The Miskatonic Forum - on hold or gone foevah'? :(

I think even Rich made clear that he himself wasn't happy with the forum content....never ceases to amaze me though...I would think the metal spirit would be thought of as brash, brutal and powerful...yet when someone is that way and uses all that energy to accomplish a ton of the thing for the scene, hordes of folks who haven't done 1/1,000th of what he has eternally bitch and whine...metal took a lot of good things from punk, but blaming and hating accomplishment and strength should not be among them...

and indeed what is wrong with The River? Finding new angles to doom isn't bad in my book as long as you maintain the core...not a fan of the "if its new it sucks kind of thinking" thirty years from now there will be a bunch of twats who think only the stuff coming out right now is any good...

Rich is a complete ass to lots of people a lot of the time and you're going to defend him as some hero? He frequently right out makes things up, puts words in other people's mouthes to support his arguments etc. - he even caused problems between me and Patrick of Warning - whom I have since discussed the matter with over emails and everything was fine, he'd never said the shit Rich said he had, and I promised I wouldn't divulge any details online anymore so I'm not going to get into it anymore I simply mention it cos it is a potent example - and now Rich is on Hellride talking about the same thing claiming I'm the liar again! That guy is 40-years old and he acts like a teenager, or what is trying to insult someone by making up they're a virgin haha? You know how all the trouble started with Rich and me, after I DARED say I didn't like some details about the Isen Torr cover on Miskatonic. He has got lots of things done, but does this mean he should be excused for acting like an ass? NO! And why should someone who keeps fabricating stories about others be supported?

People towed the line because they wouldn't like to offend Mr. Walker because he was in some bands they liked. The board is no great loss whatsoever in my opinion.

I haven't experienced any duplicity from Rich; if I did then I would take the issue up with him. Right now it appears like it is pretty much your word against his. That's your grievance to deal with. I'm addressing the general belligerent streak I think he would be the first to own. It comes from the same fighting spirit that leads to all he has accomplished.

There is a lot of great music currently being made and I absolutely see him as someone who whips up support and passion for it. That is a good thing in my book. Until I have some experience that says otherwise, he has my respect.

And why would I lie? And why would lots of other people think the same about him? Everyone else is lying but him right? It's starts feeling like some damn surreal nightmare when there are so many people who have negative things to say about him in private but then never do so openly.

I couldn't give a shit about any of the bands he's involved with.

Alright, it always missed me that the guy has something to do with Miskatonic, a site I never ever visited, only that he is in Pagan Altar & Isen Torr. I talked to one on musik-sammler.de once who told me all kinds of crazy (with that i mean awful & nasty) stuff about him but more or less rumor/vague like. Dunno, interesting to hear these stories now...

I don't know Daniel, the conflict I have seen in public has been over issues, not dishonesty in friendships. I would say you need to take a look at the fact that these folks you are referencing are willing to slag someone in private, but not in public,,,cowardice is never a sign of good character or believability. I respect more someone who will say it out in the open (I may disagree vehemently, but it is a far site better than what you describe these people as doing).

In my private communications with Rich (which have been going on for a long time) he has never privately talked shit about anyone, it has always been about the music, life and taking care of business. I'll let it go at that. I will let this one lay, your issue with him appears to be very personal. Obviously we see the man very differently.

Yeah, maybe I have to check them out again? When I heard them it didn't exactly grab me by the balls... sounded a bit weak to me, but I'm keen to check them out properly with their next release & they probably will floor me..???

Playing devil's advocate here somewhat Daniel, as I don't know you, but I've read all the warring threads on Hellride, and if there are so many people out there who hate Rich in private, why not name them? Saves all the ambiguous duplicity.

That wouldn't be fair to other people now would it - why should I piss off my friends? I have said things in the past, but it's definetely wrong, it's their choice to say what they want and not for me to drag people into situations they want to avoid. And are you seriously telling me you don't know a single other person who has a problem with Rich?
