I know man I just said that 2 best friends had a bidding war without a reason they increased the price very high. I hope you understand why that is bad (for several reasons)...

Yeah I don't know what's going on ebay lately. It supposed to be a crisis everywhere...

I respect kreator but he could sell britney spears as rare thrash for $200 easily (along with a few more sellers)... He had a copy 1 year ago which sold outside ebay for $79, then 2 auctions from different (US) sellers for $85 both, now this... What's next?

Nah, I'm not really interested in hearing it, that was more of a general question. I'm a bit picky with thrash metal and I always wondered if those rare top $$$ thrash cds are any good...

$250 for 2nd LWS which can be seen on Dutch / German ebay every now and then for 30€ tops ... and apparently sucks?

And $355 for Leviathen - I was bidding on two in the past year and finished 3rd on the first one that was sold for something over $100 and 2nd on the other one for $60, as the winner there was the 2nd highest bidder on the 1st one ... thrasking again :D

Fair play to those who collect but I think the prices being paid for all these CDs are just amazing. To think at the start of the decade they probably could not give half this stuff away if they tried...

Well, ebay is a lottery and while this week's kreator auction mostly hit the (over the) top prices, it's not always like that, even with the best / biggest ebay re-sellers. But lately many (too many) CDs got sold for insane amounts, and prices like $200 seem to happen every week, although the stuff that is sold isn't really worth that much. Yet on the other hand the companies are still laying people off, and the global economy doesn't seem to be nowhere near perfect ... Perhaps just the number of people who can afford paying top prices has reduced, while the "top collectors" = those with enough money still shop as they used to or even more ?
