Well, I'm not into this band (for most of you this would be some kind of sin) so, any of you can recommend me some albums? Mostly traditional ones, cause I really don't like progressive stuff.
Are you sure you're in the right forum?
In any case the best place to start imo would be the first four records - Night on brocken (1984), the spectre within (1985), awaken the guardian (1986) and No Exit (1988), (my fave FW record, power/prog/thrash at its finest). After this they went in a more progressive direction which i guess you wouldnt be too interested in but maybe still give em a try if/when you get a chance - Perfect symmetry (1989), Parallels (1991) and Inside Out (1994). (Dont know much about the newer releases from what ive heard they are also progressive)

1. Awaken the Guardian
2. The Spectre Within (sometimes I like this as much as AoG... "Traveller in Time" rules!!!)
3. Night on Bröcken
Don't bother with anything else. And although I'm a HUGE John Arch fan, I don't dislike the later material because he's not on it. The music just isn't as good to me.
Speaking of John Arch, will he ever record a follow-up to "Twist of Fate?" That EP was fucking AMAZING.
If you want a single record to start with, try 'Spectre Within'. If it's a little too proggy for you, then try 'Night on Brocken'. If you like 'Spectre Within', then try 'Awaken the Guardian'. Hope that helps

Awaken the Guardian is a timeless metal masterpiece, a milestone, 10/10. I think no 80's metal fan can really go wrong with that record. Even if it's a bit progressive it's still so much classic metal. If you enjoy stuff like Queensrÿche, Crimson Glory, Heir Apparent, you should love it.
