Cleveland's heavy metal compilation LP from 1984 with bands like Mistreater, Severe warning,...what's a fair price to pay for one and is it worthwhile??
I bought mine for 25 euros, but I've seen it for more than twice that price, so maybe I got lucky. It is definitely worth it, in my opinion. Several exclusive killer tracks!
I'm buying a few old demo's from a guy and he also has this compilation for sale for €13. But it has some ringwear and bend corners. And adding a LP to demo's greatly increases the shipping costs also. Fuck, if cash wouldn't be so tight I wouldn't doubt for a second but now...

I believe I've paid 40 euro's for it. Great compliation LP; the Black Death tracks are already worth the money.

Sten, that's a different one! That is Cleveland heavy metal from 1983, this is Cleveland's heavy metal from 1984. I also was confused at first (I already have that first one with Black death etc, GREAT!). The subtitle for the 1984 is 'Etched in steel'

€13 for that comp sound pretty cheap. Normally it would be around €30. It's not as good as "Cleveland Metal" from '83 but it has a few great tracks. I say buy. (Noodles is good food)

It's been over a year and nothing much have come up yet so I will give it another try. Any info on these three?

In New Age's case specifically their eventual Vanadium connection - I tried the http://www.italianmetal.it/enciclopedia/ and the only thing I found was that this Aldo (short for Cataldo, which probably is long for Aldo) Prantera was handling hte keyboards (tastiere?). But as none such player is being featured in any of the photos on the back-cover and their bass player - supposedly named Mauro (no surename) according to the enciclopedia (pardon (scusi?) my Italian) - still looks (looked) pretty much the same as the Vanadium-Prantera (Domenico or "Mimmo").

Mysteries still to solve. Help!
GJ wrote:Well, since I've just found out how to post pictures on this forum I'd thought it was time to see if anyone has some info on these three records.

Starting with an italian one the only one of the three which I've seen mentioned anywhere before:
New Age - New Age/Nessuno ci... a 7-inch single from 1982 on Belgravia Records BCS 103. This is a little gem which could be compared to what Saxon did on their 1980-81 albums - the A side has a Wheels of Steel kind of riff while the B side is a fast track which makes me think of Mythra - which makes me think of the B.Ö.C.

The question here is the connection with Vanadium. The New Age bass player looks just like Domenico (Mimmo) Prantera of Vanadium. See evidence below. The Vanadium picture is taken from the Metal Rock LP (also from 1982) on which Domenico has no songwriting credits (which he's given on all later albums - I haven't got Seventh Heaven or later stuff). Adding to this the New Age songwriter being called Cataldo Prantera (a brother or another alias for Domenico?). Shed some light if you can.

Next up is another seven incher, this time from Belgium, which I asked about a few years back on metalpage.de but never got any info on:
Amma - Le Fou/Le Faiseur d'Amour released on Christian's Records (year unknown but kind of looks like 1981-84). Catalogue no 63.491
Not great by any means still kind of nice, definitely more Hard Rock than HM. Saxon, The Rods, Trust and Rainbow's rockier side could be not too unfair comparisons (well, quality-wise, very unfair).

Finally this british 12-inch single which I got from my brother as he thought it would fit better in my collection. He first ordered it in about 1990 - the seller claiming that a member from Tank would be on it (???).
Russia - National Homicide/Filth Patrol released on Impact, Catalogue no JSMT 0001 again no year of release (probably late eighties -very early nineties). Musically it's slightly punkish nwobhm styled Hard Rock (not too far from Tank - Rose Tattoo also comes to mind).

I'm sorry, is this some language-barrier thing? You posted a photo of your copy, which someone said is the Enigma version, so I've posted a photo of mine which is the original Liquid Flames one, so consequently both versions are now on show. What's the mystery? What is unclear? What have I misunderstood?

Vasilis, if your record says 'Enigma Records' it should obviously be the Enigma pressing. The fact that it also says 'Liquid Flames' only means it was licensed from this label.

Actually I don't think Enigma even existed in 1981.

my copy, nowhere says Enigma Records, nor is the copy you own by Liquid Flames Records!!!
Definately it is not a bootleg!!!

I asked Robert Garven! Let's hope he knows!!!

It is a mystery!!!!!!!!!! HAhahaha

Edit: Daniel, I mean here that MY copy is not the classic LF pressing I know!!!
Sorry for misunderstanding, it seems I was quite drunk!!! Haha

I had to pass up on it because there's a record fair here next week...and buying there is still more fun.
So if anybody else wants it, contact me and I'll give you the link. You do have to be European and you do have to have a credit card.

Ah, too bad. As Dan said, not as good as Cleveland Metal but still worth picking up. Decent price but I got mine for only $10. :)
