Yeah, I agree. Zeppelin is the worst. If I'd grown up in the '70s, I probably wouldn't have been a music fan at all because of shit like that.ION BRITTON wrote:Speak for yourself! Me never, at any time, at any age and for any reason! :PDaN wrote:"Only Zeppelin is Trve!!"

What about Punk? Glam? NWOBHM? it was all going on in the 1970's, Hell! Saxon have been at it since the 1920's.DMR wrote:Yeah, I agree. Zeppelin is the worst. I've seen the latter. I'd take it back for 100 Vectoms concerts and starting their official fanclub. The Erlking wrote:Well I would rather see three vectoms in a row than go to a killswitch engage concert.mordred wrote:Nah... the worst horror I could imagine is being forced to watch a Vectom concert. The Erlking wrote:I think that even the most mediocre or even kinda sucky 80s bands would've been cooler to see than most metal that gets published today.

Vectom really aren't that bad.
Especially, when compared to bands like Black Shepherd...

I agree where DaN and mordred are going in their posts. There's a big possibility had we of been 20-30 years young in those days we would of hated those bands. Labelled them Sabs ripoffs etc. The thread is titled "if YOU had..." You would be a different person.
What you guys need is a Time Machine to go back in, seriously, I've got one. It will cost you your record collections though. Bring weapons. I have have only done this once before. Just don't disturb the metal timeline by letting slip and banging on about obscure flash US metal acts from the future all while you're spending more time getting drunk and trying to get into some scene queens pants (now plain old mother's pants) than watching the actual bands.

That might as well have happened in this lifetime, getting all hung over MTV metal, but we never did. So time can went as it will, we were like this in the future and we will be in the past.Nicko McBuff wrote:I agree where DaN and mordred are going in their posts. It seems you're always born too late when it comes to your favourite music...
Not having "been there" probably helps you to romanticize about the era and its sounds and shrouds it in mystery.
There's exceptions of course, but you rarely see people who were into Metal way-back-when, who still worship Thee Olde Schööl with the same fervor as for instance your avarage Corroseum forum member.
(Irony #2: In my experience, if these guys are still into "Metal" it's usually NUmet'l or NUpowermetal..)
