One of my favorites is Zaxas. Like a cross between Queensryche and Metal Church.

did you mean ruff justice? it's a good melodic metal/hard rock this one. the other rough justice-don't stop believing is a semi good AOR from norway and thus not for this thread.

tbieri wrote:Not too many really excellent ones. Especially between 1991 to 1998.
Most (not all !) of the ones wich where named are Good but nothing more.

These are more than good ;
EXXPLORER - A Recipe for power
ETERNITY X - The Edge (evtl. too proggy and melodic for what you are searching)
TITAN FORCE - Winner / Loser
CAGE - Unveiled
early KAMELOT
SAHARA - Both
HANKER - Everything
CRYPTIC VISIONS - Same

Some very good Prog. Metal Albums where published in the 90ies.

bro, i worship also sahara, but i think they're way too melodic for the bands that our aussie buddy is looking for. cryptic visions is a very good one.

Folks - what I missed here yet is Jacobs Dream, their first, self-released CD!
For me a real classic of US metal of the 90's!

not really as the one I was talking of - the self-released demo cd - is from 1996. Some of the tracks then were re-recorded for the Metal Blade release from 2000 :wink:

OK! haven't heard that one, but the Metal Blade "debut" is also fantastic.
wouldn't mind an upload in poisonoise if you make it there soon :wink:
