CAULDRON.... poser metal of the 2000s?
Goat Horn/Cauldron was from a small city close to Ottawa - where I come from. I got to follow the guys for years now... they are definately not posers, althought I don't know Ian (the guitarist) personally. They worked very hard to be where they are now, althought I was too let down by the new album. My favorite albums still are the two first Goat Horn CD's - they are fist pumping, beer chugging, headbanging, hip breaking records!
Good cover of the album!

Well Annick, when you use that Metal imagery like they do and end up playing the type of sloppy/ ball less crap they do you can't be anything else than posers! Don't pretend to be what you aren't I would tell them.they are definately not posers, althought I don't know Ian (the guitarist) personally. Only thing I've heard from Cauldron is the song "torture's too kind" and it's indeed shit. But what I hate more than shitty metal is a poser witchhunt esp. if real metal like WASP is getting mixed up with it!

Cauldron is so boring..., I prefer listen to WASP and Crue !!

Cauldron , yeah , saw them twice at Muskelrock in Sweden, can't really remember much because I were drunk as fuck but I do remember the bassplayer & singer has a really , really ugly bassguitar.

Next to my CAULDRON question, this is a good one for sure... I have other ones in mind but I prefer to shut my big mouth to not offend more peopleSpeaking of poser metal, why on earth are there a bunch of bands calling themselves 'New Wave of Finnish Heavy Metal' that don't have anything to do with metal???

I've read about them but never actually heard any of these. Maybe I'm lucky then? Sounds like a retarded concept anyway.daniel wrote:Speaking of poser metal, why on earth are there a bunch of bands calling themselves 'New Wave of Finnish Heavy Metal' that don't have anything to do with metal??? What is the point, gimmicky SHIT.

Interesting discussion on WASP there. hehe
Back on topic, I heard the EP before but it really didn't stick in my mind, perhaps I should have heard it more, dunno.
I remember watching a few years ago a video on youtube of them recording stuff at the studio and then going out in the car and all. "What a poser video" I thought at the time, it was like one of those studio videos that you only see of big bands.
I also watched a similar video of Toxic Holocaust on the studio before their latest album coming out and remembered me of the Cauldron one.
I never heard the new stuff, but I keep hearing that they changed and all that stuff.

CAULDRON and ENFORCER are very welcome. These bands are out touring and have a direct link to the underground labels which will hopefully turn some fans onto other great music released by labels like Iron Kodex, Stormspell, etc.
The people that post here know a lot about the underground while some fans out there are still learning, so I don't understand the fuss.
If the schedule permits, I will get out and spend my money to go see this show.
