Rumpelstiltkin - The Look to the Door

Post by Nasty_Pirate »

Ahoy there! I be new here in this great forum!

I've been looking for the album "The Look to the Door" by Rumpelstiltkin. It's German power/heavy released in 1988 I think. I'm really curious to know of it's any good or worth to find as I'm really into German power/heavy of olde.

Cheerz maties!

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

Please feel free to formally introduce yourself here

Are you sure that this EP is from 1988? I have seen a few other dates mentioned...

From what little I understand from the german review at metalpage.de, it seems this is mediocre, AC/DC-like hard rock with maybe one decent, more metallic song. Probably not worth the cash. Go for NINJA, HEADSTONE or 'the other' OVERDOSE instead

I've also heard it is pure crap, not metal.

these guys were a pupils' band at my school in my hometown Erlangen back then - same as MADHOUSE btw! (RUMPELSTILTKINs bassist was MADHOUSE's "producer" and the First Damage demo was recorded at his house)

and the music is indeed crap. it is AC/DCish hardrock as Dan said, not even played very well..

one of the guy's dad had some sort of a cash cow and paid everything, incl. the production of the record - had nothing to do with any kind of quality or anything (not that every record ever released has.. ).

I don't have the record myself (found it boring even back then), but some of my friends I think I remember having it.. but not worth tracking down by any means.

Thanx sargotan for your answer! I think I understand how it would sound! Maybe I'll find it in mp3 or something to give it an ear :P
