Yeah, it didn't totally look like a white metal band to me, but doomedplanet referred to them as a xtian band, so I thought there was something I was missing, hehe.stormspell wrote:This is not a Christian band. No X-ian band will have such artwork, inverted crosses all over the J-card, and "Hanging Judas" for a label...xr2m wrote:Oh yeah, I find it amusing that a Christian band would give themselves nicknames like "The Beast" and "The Prince of Darkness." It all adds to the charm, though.
Regardless, it's a great demo. Congrats on finding one of the members!

Rob mentioned finding it among some crappy x-ian tapes, but I've noticed that some christian music fans will accidentally buy non-xian bands that have religious names. Years ago I found a guy selling some used xian metal cassettes at a flea market, stuff like Saint, Rage of Angels, etc. However, he also had some Sodom tapes, and from talking to him it was clear that he had missed the fact that Sodom was not a xian band like the others
I bought 'em all and laugh about it to this day. A couple of religious kids I knew back in high school would also get interested in an album/band with a religious name, only to be disappointed when they learned the band had not accepted Christ as their savior
Maybe the same thing happened to some poor Oregonian once upon a time

Finally had time to listen to the entire thing- this is indeed really good stuff! On first impression 'Dark Rebel' and 'Psalm 313' really stand out, but all the songs are consistently good. Really nice find, and thanks once again for sharing this Rob!

Glad everyone liked it. So do I, it was a great find among the usual junk I see inthe Portland stores I look at now and again. I don't see any inverted cross on the cover, so that confuses me. I have on the other hand seen that "double cross" that is on the cover before, just not sure where it comes from.

On the J-card, not on the cover:doomedplanet wrote:I don't see any inverted cross on the cover, so that confuses me.

Although they may have some hidden religious or strictly decorative meaning only. Sadly I haven't heard back from the Prince of Darkness yet. Hope he will come through and shed some info on this.

Jackpot!
I discovered that a very cool person I know was very closely associated with ISCARIOT from the very beginning. The world is truly a small place as they say!
Anyhow, here's what she had to say:
They were truly a fantastic band. I have pics and flyers and what not if you need them. They had the best pyro shows (for the time) that ever graced a stage. Gothic metal, not Christian. A lot of Anti-Catholic angst behind their music, if you ask me. Had huge warehouse parties with hundreds of people. Kick ass and way before their time. Dressed all black, had candelabras on stage, and played in the lowest of light: atmospheric metal at its best.
I don't think any of the guys in the band ever realized just how cool they looked. I was blown away by their first show and so were the cops who showed up...ha ha!
Stay tuned for more.

Sounds really cool Iordan, seeing pictures would be amazing.
I like the tape, though it doesn't blow me away - it never gave me goosebumps but it is cool, I really like the instrumental, scarily good, mystic
but of course it must sound most amazing of all to Rob having found it, often the experiences we have associated with the acquisition of music or simply the physical owning of it makes a huge difference to how much we enjoy it...
