Unidentified Demo = Valkyrie (Hol)

Post by nightsblood »

Does anyone know what this demo is?

EDIT- should now be available for mre than 10 d/ls:

http://rapidshare.com/files/173616697/Last_train_86.zip

It was sent to me as Witch Cross' 'last train' demo but I really don't think it is. Doesn't sound like WC, has the wrong # of songs (according to MA), etc. Does anyone recognize it? Thanks for any help. I haven't played all of it, just enough to realize something was fishy. It has an 80s trsd metal sound to it. I'll play it later and see if I can offer any more clues. The person who sent it to me burned the wrong demo and isn't sure offhand what he put on the disc

Maybe someone with a collector's (or premium) account can rehost it for you. You should get a collector's account, is for free and the files last longer.

This is definately not WITCH CROSS "Last Train" demo. Some songs sounds familiar to me but I can't remember now.

Its a good demo, unfortunately I don't think I've ever heard it before. Reminds me of early Manowar a bit mixed with Jim Schumacher Bass from Brocas Helm.

Yeah I don't recognize it either. I'll add to doomedplanet's description that the singer sounds a bit like David DeFeis.

Damn! You beat me to it w/ a few minutes... "Deeds of Prowess" is the title.

One of the best European Metal demos ever. It's hard to believe this hasn't been reissued yet.

Thanks Black Axe! I owe you a beer if we ever cross paths.

Never even heard of this band/demo but it is indeed pretty cool. Their MA picture doesn't just scream Manowar, it bellows it forth with a mighty Cimmerian battle roar

I'm glad folks are enjoying it. Now that I know what the heck it is, here's the track list from MA for those interested:

Valkyrie- Deeds of Prowess
Demo, Self Released
1986
1. The Ride Of The Valkyries 05:26
2. The Master Of Death 04:55
3. Ancient Steel 05:36
4. Battlefield Of Pelennor 07:15
5. The Gods Are Angered 03:45
Total playing time 28:24

Wish I could help but my u/l speed sucks these days- it would take over an hour to re-up the demo and the connection would likely get dropped halfway through. If I get access to a better connection I'll try. The demo does indeed feature some good Manowar worship (Hail to England period), so if that's your thing you should dig it. Maybe someone else can get to re-up this sooner than I can

I hadn't really paid any attention to this thread before, didn't listen to the tracks before they were found out, but now I realise I've had this demo for some years, so I reuploaded it and there you go:
