Paid $9 for it about 2 years ago. Didn't think I'd make 1/4 of that final price...

Great for you !

I must say, that thought passed through my mind!oldskoolcollector wrote:You lucky I passed for this one a few weeks ago... grrrr
People have turned the logic upside down...a starting price for an old CD should be 5 dollars. If it's rare and/or great music the price should rise. But nowadays people assume any old thrash CD is worth 50 dollars. Unless it's super crap and/or flooding the market in great numbers, that's the price. The Sentinel wrote:Those CD auctions have become to retarded to make sense, really unbelievable; fincial crises my ass. I've noticed on ebay that LP's are becoming more affordable then it used to be. Hope they will catch normal prices in years to come. Tapes are very hot too nowadays. People are blowing their money on bootleg tapes rather then a real collector item on vinyl.
The last few weeks many copies came around on E-bay. Maybe the first bootlegs??perishinflames wrote:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0415845477
I should have bid on this, if only to resell. There is no bootleg copy floating around, is there (I assume if there was it would show up more often)?
Hmmm.. you are right, way too many copies showing up within a 2 week period. Though 2 of the completed were definitely legit, and still went for less than normal price. But it definitely appears a bootlegger got their hands on a copy finally. But I'm happy enough with my €5 LP, so not really worried.oldskoolcollector wrote:The last few weeks many copies came around on E-bay. i know well some chinese ebay sellers are selling japanese CD on ebay. but i don't think they are bootleg. first, most of them is not rare. so it is not good idea to make bootleg of them, you know. as they are not rare, it is easy to get them for reasonable price. some of them are selling some rare japanese CDs, but you know many chinese guys used to buy many CDs from ebay, and some chinese guys (including me) used to go to japan to buy cds. so it is not strange they sell some rare items on ebay.mega_lodon wrote:@gigadethgigadeth wrote: i found this morbid angel item at a used cd shop when i visted Japan 7-8 years ago, and the price was about $50. i did not buy it as i thought it is so expensive. but after that, i have never found it again. it was first and last time i met the item.
May I ask you a question since you are living in China? I've seen Jap CD auctions on eBay and many of those sellers are located in China. Also looking at some Chinese Metal forums (yeah I can read Chinese), it appears that many Chinese collectors actually own some very nice Jap pressings (CD and LP). I remember once there was a Chinese seller on a forum trying to sell his Witchfinder General Jap CD (which is very rare to see anywhere). It seems to me like Jap CDs are pretty easy to come by in China? Do you have any idea those Jap CDs, in most cases, are originals or maybe just some "hi-quality" bootlegs that are circulating in the local market?
