RUNNING WILD is over...

Post by wreackhavoc »

Face In The Wind, We're Riding The Storm...
The sensation is perfect. For the 20th anniversary of Wacken Ballroom Hamburg presents the German Metal legend RUNNING WILD for a last mega-show on Europe's largest metal stage – fittingly to the 30th anniversary of the band: Rock'n'Rolf is taking his final leave with a bombastic farewell show on Thursday, July 30th 2009 during the "Night To Remember".

"To all true Running Wild fans:

Now after 30 years of RUNNING WILD I feel it's time to lower the flag and to take down the sails to face new challenges.

That's why we want to celebrate the 30 years' history of the band for a last time at this year's Wacken Open Air on the occasion of its 20th anniversary with a two-hour headlining Best-Of show on Thursday, July 30th with a lot of surprises to bring it to a dignified end.

It's also planned to record a Live-DVD and -CD of that show to make it complete.

Now I can look down with calmness on the last 30 years and I feel proud of what I have reached. At the same time, nothing of that would have been possible without your support during the last decades. That's why I wanna say thanks for all the wonderful moments of that career and I wish you all the best for the future!

Yours
Rock'n'Rolf"

A sad day, even though they have been sort of dead to me ever since Black Hand Inn. Nevertheless, the legacy will live on! I'll blast Death or Glory while at the gym tomorrow morning. RIP!

So... I never got to se my biggest teenage heroes live. A sad day. I even liked the last album Rogues en Vogue very much and was hoping for a new one. Running Wild was always Running Wild and it was always special.

One of the first bands to get me into heavy metal. I've loved them since I first time heard the band when I saw the music video of conquistadores. And I too never got to saw them live. :(

Never got to see them either, thought the last 2 albums were terrible. The Rivalry was the last really good one imo, that has some killer moments.

I saw Running Wild live once. 2000 I think it was, and it was a great show. Too bad you guys never got the chance.

They didn't play once when I was over in Germany trying to live last year, also my friend is a big fan was over there doing the same thing, (but in Finland)... now we're both back and we'll never get to see 'em. Oh well I suppose the best days are behind them, I'll have to resort to old gigs on youtube. Thank you for the music.

I am afraid i won't be able to go to see that last show. And it's too bad because i've never seen them before and we are talking about a band who taught me what that heavy fucking metal sound is...I hope they kick everybody's arse one last time, just like they did in the past.
