Cloning Accept and doing it good is really, really hard. Their style is so streamlined and simple that you really have to have those ass kicking, neck breaking riffs, those anthemic choruses that really hit the bull's eye, the attitude, everything, because if you don't it will just sound boring. It's in a way easier to clone, say, Iron Maiden or Manilla Road, and not come off as utterly boring because those styles are more spectacular in themselves so to speak.
I tend to get quickly fed up with the typical Accept clone, like Tyrang (GER) for example. Even if they aren't really that bad, I seldom reach for albums of that kind if they don't quite kick enough ass. Like Accept did.

Well yeah it's pretty hard to be as good as Accept for sure but I've heard lots of Accept-influenced, simple, straightforward AND crushing HM. I really love and need this kinda stuff. Maybe I'm just so much into the style that I don't think it comes off boring as often as some of you seem to think. From my point of view it's a bit annoying that bands like this nearly never get any praising because the style is not complex, epic, athmospheric or what ever. I don't know about you guys but sometimes I just get an urge to listen straightforward HEAVY METAL with no bullshit but riffs and attitude. VAMPYR is a perfect medicine for this!mordred wrote:Cloning Accept and doing it good is really, really hard. I think Fucking Åmål was alike me in this sense though he really took it to the extreme.

DANTON and FIRST AID, easily the two best Accept clones to come to mind.
