Aye. "Stoking the Ovens of Death" is pretty much the same song as "A Sense of Freedom".

More than anything MIRAJ from the 'Metal Mainiaxe' compilation. THEE most obscure sounding NWOBHM for me, followed by RITUAL, but the MIRAJ track...it's completely otherworldly. That is how it always felt to me, the feeling has been enhanced due to certain memories associated with it, events that came to pass... A timeless magic permeates every second of its running time, and each time it spins we are enveloped in mists and lost in mazes trying to grasp the meaning of it all... Basement metal rules.

How about Race Against Time and Bastille from the New Electric Warriors LP ? Tellurian were also a compilation only band when they still existed. Another cool band from the Whinging Album was Acanthus. there were also some great bands on the Ebony compilations like Detroit, Random Black, Headhunter, Schell Shock ... and there's Valkyrie from the Seaside compilation ...

Interesting pick from an awesome sampler. I'd prefer the TEMPTER song "Death is for Burning", with that great song buildup.

I wish they'd done more.
I adore the CONFESSOR track on that same compilation. I've heard rumours about a demo, but never found one.

Mad Man ("Backstabber" from Metal Massacre VII)
Crisis ("Eye to Eye" from Metal Meltdown III)
Gypsy Kiss ("Take me Home" from Metal Meltdown III)
Roadies Nightmare ("Traitor" from Northcoast Steel)
Judea ("Knock" on California Metal II)
Unter den Linden ("Wings of Night" on Roxcalibur)
Myth ("Let me hear the Thunder" on Pacific Metal Project)
Danger Cross("Only Death is real" on Greece Attacks)

Hey Erlking I hope you don't mind if I carry the theme along for a while. That MASS record cover was inspiring for more than you.
