V.A. Not Just Spaghetti And Mandolini

Please do. I had the opportunity to pick this one up for a decent price, but got the impression it was the typical late 80's 50/50 Sleeze/mediocre Thrash comp. Need to hear it for final judgement.
Well no thrash or anything overly sleazy but prepare yourself for some ultra mediocre hard rock and heavy metal. The first track is kinda cool Queensryche-like prog metal though.

Cheers. NP.

Moon Of Steel would have been ok if the playing wasn't so wobbly. Shame..
M.A.C.E. was great Speed Metal! Does their LP live up to this? I always took them for Bay-Area-Bores..
Then there's lots of trackskippin' until Synthesis which does pretty decent "nwobhm-speed" w/ added guitarwankery.
...followed by Skull which sounds awesome! Dark, progressive & original, just like we like our Italians! Who has their demos?---> http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=42072
The closing rocker by V.I.S. wasn't half-bad either. As a whole, buying this LP is still a big Maybe :?

I have their first demo (1987), I'll upload it this evening.

Well it's good but nothing phenomenal imo. I'd like to hear the LP too though. MA calls the band Epic Heavy Metal so maybe their album is more like that?

It's decent but the I expect some ppl to dislike the vocals :D

I have a rip of "maniac demo" from 1987. Is this the same you have?

The M.A.C.E LP is mostly Speed Metal. Some songs are normal Metal. Most Songs a quite long too, from 5 to 7 miutes. I don't really like it. Production is dull, you have to turn up the volume a lot. The drums are thin. Also i don't really like the singer !
The LP is absolutely comparable to the song on this compilation, but the rest of the songs are not as straight as this one.

Yes, I'm aware.

Does this upload really contain a trojan though?

If it doesn't, it's a bit late for a April fools. When I downloaded it, it had just the songs of the compilation in it though.

Yaaah, totally average, there are about 3 or 4 decent tracks on there. BUT, one thing that always gets to me is that it's so easy to put whatever record down when you just have it on MP3, I've experienced it several times that I thought something wasn't too amazing when hearing rips of it, and then when I had it in my hands I found new appreciation for it - this does NOT have anything to do with mistaking rarity for quality; I don't think all my rarer albums are 'masterpieces', but I can't help feel a slight arrogance in people's attitudes a lot of the time.
