Summer 2009 festivals.

New bands, new releases, new metallic events, reissues, post-millenia-Metal in general...

I would definitely go there if I lived a little closer to Sweden. I really hope I get to see Riot this year.

Only festivals planned are Keep it true and that Chris witchhunter tribute, but both are indoors and not really summer.
Don't think we'll plan anything, maybe just go to a festival if we all have time. We quite like Czech republic so maybe Obscene extreme again or Brutal assault.

It must be due to the beer...I was on the Open Hell festival some years ago...

Beer and food is cheap for us from the west yes. But I also like the country. Nice nature, and the country side sometimes really oozes out the old communist atmosphere. Not very friendly people though, the Czech. First time I went there was right after the fall of the iron curtain with my parents. Now then it was incredibly cheap. We felt like millionaires.

hell yeah. some bakery saleslady in Prague a few years ago left me and my girlfriend standing at the desk and rushed out of the store without a word - she was pissed that we tried to place an order in english  ! ressentiments against german tourists are quite common, but we didn't even speak German!

another customer explained that lady was well known for being not keen on Germans, or Brits or any other englishspeaking or, general, foreign folk whatever, and for sure wouldn't come back until we would have left. really made my day. we only had breakfast at Dunkin' Donuts from that day on..

I've visited the whole of the czech republic, and I have to say that only in Prague people aren't that friendly.
Otherwise, I had no problems at all. The nicest people we met near the slovakian border.

personally I think that the people near the German border are even more unfriendly than in Prague...you need to go to Cheb, all women are prostitutes and all male are criminals, this was my impression...however southern Bohemia showed the opposite...

Prague people do not smile very much, but overall I met some friendly faces. Once I came into a shop, said "hello" in czech and the lady didn't stop talking to me for like 5 minutes trying to sell me things, until I said "sorry, I don't speak czech... " ... now she was really mad!

Man, I gotta go down southern Bohemia and try out those friendly male prostitutes! Btw how do I avoid getting into trouble with them female criminals? Are they all armed (and big-titted)? Do they take hostage? :D

On another note: I got my HOA-tickets yesterday - me and my brother probably will take the car down there. How's camping there? Possibilities of getting a good breakfast (I am a diabetic), and a shower now and then. Do people generally behave on the camping site? Can I store rare records in the car without people breaking in? 8) Maybe we should book a hotel as we're old boring farts after all...
