Love the Leonard Nimoy-version of this one.

Even though not exactly a "new" band, I am surprised nobody has mentioned HAMMERS OF MISFORTUNE.

In my mind one of the most and exciting and unique bands out there.

Their new "double album package" turned up in the post today so I am quite excited to hear it.

Newer bands: Lamp of Thoth, Apostle of Solitude

I know I ain't doing much,
doing nothing means a lot to me.

Some of their tunes are actually kind of catchy! New album coming up in February (or now in December if you get your hands on a JapEd).

I cannot argue with Enforcer or Portrait. Also worth a listen is UK band Dark Forest, utterly brilliant English true metal, plus hopefully it should increase interest for you lot to know that one of them now plays guitar in Cloven Hoof.

If you can still get the Dark Forest demos then definitely give them a listen.

My vote goes to Negative Plane. Awesome and unique Black Metal. They definately have their own style, but you can notice influences from old killer bands like Celtic Frost, Mortuary Drape, Samael, Mercyful Fate, Voivod etc.

Oh hey since we mentioned Wrathblade before, I can very honestly also endorse Litany. Give their album 'Aphesis' a listen or hundred.

would you care to elaborate a bit on the sound? I'm thinking about ordering these from the little I've read.
