Cool to see interest! :)

Yeah I was also thinking along the lines of more 'power' than 'traditional metal'...even though I included some slightly to the contrary myself, it's not like it matters what you include; 'stop going off-topic!' or any stupidity like that haha, but I meant it as a style, not just bands from the US. I love Doom Metal but that's a different story.

Uh, could have included Manowar's 'Hail To England' too, and Fifth Angel, Gargoyle, Glacier...

I've never heard the 2nd Attika, where can I find that???

And there were a few others in there I've never heard, thanks a lot.

Got to say, Cauldron Born - 'Born of the Cauldron' must be one of the worst records I've heard...those vocals ;)

when heroes fall is actually the second attika release, the first one was 'the motherlode' rereleased as simply 'attika' if i remember correct from CMC
that one is much inferior to me,including only 2 great songs, when cowards die,and glory bound (though both are masterpieces)

huh if i could include P Waltz's 'a social grace' that ld be number one in a way to me but it's less 'traditional' than the ones we're probably trying to cover in this thread

need to spin Thundersteel today since so many mentioned it here.. maybe it is indeed greater than Privilege of Power? :?

and The Years of Decay gets a listen, too.. I thought it was rather average but what does my mind know, anyway..

Metal Church should have been in my list, too. When overlooking my collection I regarded them more Speed Metal than "trad. US power whatever", but they indeed would fit here I guess!

Huh? :) Yeah I said the second Attika release, I'm wondering how I can get hold of it? You're right, only two great tracks on the other release, 'Glory Bound' my favourite.

"Racing the dawn" is a killer tune as well, actually the 2nd side of ATTIKA's debut is great imo.
Good against Evil, Evil sure to win

Thundersteel is an awesome album but The Privilege of Power has the track "Black Leather and Glittering Steel", one of the best metaltunes in existence, pure magic!!!!!!! That song does remind a bit of the mighty Witch Cross from Denmark.

i agree that the good songs on privilege are on par if not better to any song on thundersteel
Don Van Stavern wrote most of thundersteel, and i kinda consider it SA Slayer 's third release. Privilege was SA Slayer 's and Riot 's bastard kid :D
Attika also had a track on a very obscure comp LP from Florida, can't even remember its title now..
