MIDNIGHT PRIEST
Saravá fellow Headbangers!
It is with great pride that I announce here the birth of a new Heavy Metal force in Iberia lands, Portugal - http://www.myspace.com/midnightpriest here are a few rehearsal tracks for the likes of the 80's oldschool tradition!
Let me know if you like it!

I really enjoyed your(?) band, Keep up the great work and let us know if you release a demo for purchase I'd buy one for sure. Not sure who I'd compare your sound too, the imagery and sound occasionally gives off the odd whiff of old Mercyful Fate or all those obscure 80's occult weirdities we all love. Then you have a lot of Judas Priest or something more traditional sounding influence especially in the guitar work. Great solos.

This sounds really interesting. I like the Portuguese vocals as well as there being very different parts to the songs. Makes for good variation and it's harder to get bored with it after a few listens. I can actually hear some 70s sounding stuff in O Conde (Elias Hulk perhaps) and there's something there that reminds me of Medieval, though perhaps more in the approach than in the playing or composing. Please do keep posting

What are you waiting then, sure it's kewl in its own way.DaN wrote:It's times like these when I almost wanna start up my own MySpace page, just so I can add cool bands like MIDNIGHT PRIEST to the friends-list. Grrreat guitars, original songstructures, a bit sloppy but chaotic in the best of ways. WAY better than a mere "good start" I'd say!

Thanks everyone for such positive response, much appreciated and I would say inspiring too!
In these long forgotten lands of wreckage and doom we struggle hard to keep Heavy Metal burning alive!
Hard business someone said to us long ago, we spoke of no legend though. We won´t give up while we breathe with strong will, relentless passion and strict devotion to the ancient religion of Rock n´Rolling Black Magic!
We´ll be recording very soon with proper conditions and a demo-tape will follow pretty fast along with live action around here!
By the way, our next opening mass:

Cheers!

Well, I gotta step in and talk about these fellows.
I've been following the Metal scene for quite some years. Also been following the Portuguese scene for quite some years.
I saw these guys at this MINOTAUR gig. And I gotta tell you... Every since ALKATEYA left their prime in the late 80's, only two Portuguese bands grabbed me by the throat: IRONSWORD and MIDNIGHT PRIEST... Yeah, they're that good! That show was nothing short of amazing! Being the only Heavy Metal band in the bill (the others were from Thrash upwards) and also the opener without any release under their name, they managed to get (by far) the best reaction from the crowd! What I had heard on their myspace page had left me eager for more... What I saw on that night was pure fucking HEAVY METAL mayhem!
They would fit like a glove on a KIT or HOA or PLAY IT LOUD, or any other European Festival!
IRON FIST COMMANDER AND IRON WOLF, I SALUTE THEE!
