Thanks for this one. ANESTHESIA totally destroyed me! Both songs are proud power metal scorchers! HAIL! MANITOU & THUNDERDOME were excellent too. GET LOST are probably the weakest band of the compilation. Norway does rock for sure.

I'm not sure exactly where the bands came from. Probably some small town/towns if the info on the back cover is anything to go by.

The only info I've dug out so far is that the vocalist in ANESTHESIA later joined RED HARVEST and that MANITOU made a demo tape in 91 and a CD a few years later. Anyone heard these?

After several listens, my ears are stuck on some of the songs on this comp! Here is my opinion in a review-like manner.

The first track is awesome, with these oriental-like choruses, a big early-HELLOWEEN influence, but that's fine.

The second track isn't excellent, yet good ACCEPT-like Metal (even the vocals owe a lot to Udo IMO).

Third track is great too, ultra-classic and serving its purpose. The raspy voice adds a lot of power to the song IMO.

Fourth track isn't that memorable, but no so bad too.

Fifth track is a pearl, with a bit of IRON MAIDEN and JUDAS PRIEST influences in some parts (the bass especially). Decent soli though.

Sixth track is even better than the first one. The early-HELLOWEEN influence is still here, beginning with memorable vocals line in the "How many tears" vein, and a chorus more personal, and easily killer. The twin-guitar-work is great too.

Seventh track presents a track lower than the previous one. The ACCEPT influence is still heavy, but the music doesn't suffer from it. Simply the track is more common-like IMO. The opening of the song is great, though, along with the short bass part on the end of the song.

Eigth track is like the fourth. Cool but not great IMO.

Ninth track is far better than their other one, with a naive yet effective approach.

Tenth track of this records is a pure jewel, with a killer chorus, killer riffs, great breaks, all that make a good song.

Kudos for the thorough feedback to one of the most important uploads here 8)

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any demos recorded of the godly ANESTHESIA and THUNDERSOME.. :(
Still, this remains one of the greatest Metal compilations I've ever heard. Nowhere near Metal Inferno of coure, but still...
