I agree with most of what has been said about M/A, both positive & negative, but really what other resource even comes close? Rockdetector? Rateyourmusic? I think not, but there again, they have their uses too.
At the end of the day, it's such a huge subject that compiling something that covers all the bases is gonna be almost impossible, so i have to give them the thumbs up for giving it their best shot.

As long as the MA issues make it so it's more inclusive than the opposite, I'm fine, I don't mind there being some metalcore or ambient bands in there. The problem is when their superiority complex is keeping actual HM out of M-A.

I'm for erring on the side of caution on making a master list of HM bands, the opposite is ridiculous for an inclusive website.

while M-A is useful there is so much info missing it is nuts. More often than not when I take a look there, what i am looking for is missing. And it doesn't make things easier when people contribute valuable time to make entries only to have them rejected.

It's not even a question to know what's Metal and what's not.... there's so many mistakes that I have seen on this site...it's just unbeliavable.... if you decide to do something like this then you must know what you're talking about and in that case it's clear that the dudes doesn't verify facts before posting stuff... pure cheese.
