Doesnt look legit to me, at all. Legend had to pool all thier money just to buy the multitrack to record the album. After that the small pressing on LP cost so much that Ray had sell off his entire drum set to get them out of debt. They never could have afforded an original cassette pressing, at least at the time, and Fred never mentioned it to me when I told him I had everything Legend/Mercenary. Looks like it was either made some time in the 80s after Kevins death, or made recently by some guy trying to cash in...Keir wrote:Anyone know anything about this one?

Summer holidays definately got something to do with it. Prices for black metal rarities are also considerably lower than a few months ago. I too have spent the price of a mid/monster rarity on my vacationnightsblood wrote:Sov- good question, I've noticed a few of Jim's items are starting to fall short of the stratospheric values they were bringing in past months. The reasons you mentioned are quite possible. Another possibility: July tends to be a big vacation month, which means people may have money tied up in travel plans and/or be out of town and offline for longer periods, so they may miss some auctions.
Collectors are often trendy and they may indeed be ready to move on to some more obscure items that are becoming known. Many collectors like to one-up their colleagues, and with several copies of leather nunn and paradoxx being sold in the last 6 months, those items may not be the 'crown jewel' they once were. Just speculation, but Wacky.

Maybe it also has to do with the current hausse of CD-prices?

I dont know, Ive been drooling over it for a few years now.The Knell wrote:What's that Legend record? Is it the new obscure metal treasure all drool over now? Since I'm constantly hearing about it, but never read a word before a few months. Just curious maybe I missed something out

Seriously though, AMAZING stuff. One of my favorites ever. Im surprised you didnt read about it on here until recently. I used to read about it on here all the time and I havent heard about it on here in a while. Really tragic history the band has, too, unfortunately...
I posted some pictures on here a while ago. Im a major Legend-promotion-whore (not as much Purgatory but its getting there).

EDIT-------------------------------------------------
Also, the tape was 100% bootleg. Luckily the item was removed early after Fred contacted the seller. Hence, ending with no bids (someone probably would have gotten fucked out of $50+ if it wasnt taken down).
Yup, that's one of vegascd's boots. About a year ago I'd heard he was saying he found a pressing factory to do his label stuff, so it's pretty safe to assume he's running his boots through there too. If that fell through, the buyer on that is in for a BIG surprise. They possibly just dumped 100+ for a fucking CD-R bootleg!Korgüll wrote:WHAAAAAAAA!
