The Black question, Italian one that is...

Post by AngelOfLucifer »

Since I had been listening to their first full length for awhile I decided to buy Apocalypsis. Got it, popped it in, was horrified by the terrible snare drum and atrocious fake horn intros. I love In Paradisum..., which other ones are worth checking out that DON'T have slap-your-thigh snares or gay Golden Axe intros? The songs itself are great but are totally spoiled for me by the shitty sound. I can't get myself to buy any further The Black blindly, so are Golgotha or Capastrani (spelling?) Pugnator worth it?

I didn't care for Capistrani, but I don't remember there being any crappy sound issues... I just didn't get into the music at all

Peccatis Nostris and Capistarni Pugnator are well worth getting but then I'm biased and I love Apocolypsis, even the dodgy horn intros. Try Peccatis.. and if you don't like it stick to the debut and forget about the rest I suppose?

Was the second album ever reissued by any chance? Would love to hear that one.
