I'll have to try that out some time, but I don't have a lot of heavy books. Do heavy metals work too?BlackStele wrote:P.S: Bent covers fix by putting heavy books upon them(without the vin inside ofcurse!), it really works, believe me!

But why do you keep your records sealed? Aren't you interested in reading the liner notes (or whatever, if it has the inserts), holding the real vinyl in your hands, and finally, listening to the music?? So how do you listen to Paradoxx or whatever else then, on mp3s or do you possess those ~'93 CD bootlegs? Or do you maybe have double vinyl copies, since I know that many people said that vinyl-listening experience quite differs from a normal CD or even mp3 listening? Sure it looks nicer if it's sealed , but ...
I don't have anything against those who want to keep their vinyl pure, I'm just interesting in it ..

I understand her point of view personally I open my records but I understand why she keeps her records sealed. She got persecuted a while ago on the Miskatonic forums for similar issues I don't think it should annoy as many people as it does. A lot of collectors get a lot of joy out of having items in as close to brand new condition as possible. I think this is probably why you do it right BlackStele ? Especially a rare record like that.

first of all I wanna clean out sth: I never keep sealed vinyls if I don't have the ability to listen to them! For example, when I received PARADOXX, yes, it was sealed, but I opened it, eventhough I was told NOT to do so. You see, I didn't want to buy the fucking boot, so I made this"sacrifice", but I needed the vinyl to be"virgin"(I mean none else should play it before except me) no, I'm not selfish, I just wanted the BEST contition for this item cause I adore it. On the other hand, I never opened my sealed LEATHER NUNN copy, cause I have the OFFICIAL re-release with bonus tracks, so if I can avoid it why not? I hope you understand my point.. I wouldn't say all these stuff if you wouldn't ask, the same I did with miskatonic, but there everyone thought I wanted to show off. Anyway THIS is their problem, I left from this forum and I realized now my mistake to make an account there...most of the people that are there never tried to understand, I tried to make them do so, and I failed, I don't blame them, that's the way they are..sovdat wrote:But why do you keep your records sealed? Black signs on my monitor, great bitching and fake words, Avenger is here, the craziest "modest" of all modsss...FTOU!!
I can understand you but don't you have the urge of tearing away the plastic of that sealed original Leather Nunn record?
And who told you to leave the Paradoxx record sealed?
I'll check my records, I think I have a sealed LP somewhere but I can't remember which one.
And SORRY SORRY SORRY SORRY I know I'm going to hell for this one but I couldn't resist:
'no, I'm not shelfish'

hey,"Mr wise-guy", the word SHELL is spelled with double"L", so you're off topic now, and yes, I corrected my mistake, thank you...you see early morning posting before work may result to wrong spelling sometimes, but the meaning remains the same...and yes, go to Hell for this, hahaha, you have my permission!

I know the right spelling, I'm an English teacher
But let's talk about interesting things:

you're too curious teacher, hehehe...however, I'll answer the first part of your question. No, I don't feel the urge to tear apart the plastic of my sealed vins, cause I had opened copies of all in the past...
Oh, and I always save some tapes (not cdrs) with the original vin sound, if I want to buy a sealed vin copy. Well the sound won't be 100% original, but it works in some way..

You're half right Helm. I'm not a collector and I don't share that vision of music. But is not like I don't understand it, is just that I don't share it and I would discuss it. I mean, collections are speculations. I go to art mainly to get away from every day life, and I see inserting the market laws in it as corrupting this holy place for me.
I don't know if I explained myself in a clear and understanable way, my english is not that good.

wait a minute, why are you speaking so general? Well, see, I don't believe in the word "collector"with the way you mean it, when we speak about Metal...that word doesn't work form me, that is ideal for stamps as said before, or other things, but when we speak about METAL this word doesn't fit imo. You see, there's love for what you're doing, and if you believe truly in that, with all of your heart, you finally win! Don't try to use labels, just try to see trough someone's mind, if you want to understand him/her. People may have various motives and desires, different beliefs, different reactions, some are fake, and some others authentic. This happens in life generally, and ofcurse in Metal too...BUT there's a thin line that differentiates true love for music from speculation. If someone can make this clear inside, then nothing can harm him, or his music...

Of course, I'm not trying to judge anyone here. Maybe instead of saying "collector" as an individual I should've said "collecting" as an activity.
Again, I'm saying how I see the "collecting" action, not the "collector" since every individual has his own justifications for his actions, and probably they are reasonable. Again, is the english getting in the way of my ideas, since is hard for me to pick the right words when I don't know that many.
