Insane Ebay Auctions (OLD'n'locked)

He won the tyrant 7" yesterday, and I know he/she has one a couple of other pricey items in recent weeks, although i don't remember what (maybe the Satan 7"). whoever it is, they're dropping big money for nice items.

I was watching that auction but that's too pricey for that album, especially based on the number of copies I've seen lately.

Either way, let me know when you decide to sell yours.

I’m sure we ca work out a three for the price of one with Sanctum and Axiom included.

I can understand that, nothing wrong with that. But I also think you, as a collector of first presses, shouldn't comment on people who put down a lot of money for a promo CD. These people might prefer promo versions over normal versions, or they just want all versions. I personally don't care for promo versions and can count the ones I own on the fingers of one hand, but I can understand someone paying €50 for one to complete a collection.

I don't consider it part of a collection if it wasn't meant to be available to the general public anyway, promos can have inferior production on purpose among other things and I think most of the laughing was at the fact they were paying for nightwish.

Re: Nightwish, someone else might think the promo is a great collectible specifically because it was never available to the public. Same goes for discs like Sanctuary's 'into the mirror live' and Savatage's 'from the dungeons to the streets' cds. I sold 2 Iced Earth promo cd's for $50+ ea. several years ago; the artwork on the discs was different from the released versions and some fans liked the promo art better.

But it was a NIGHTWISH promo

Hehe, well I would've thought there should be plenty of those since it was on Nuclear Blast? I'm sure or local metal store, who's getting stuff mainly from Nuclear Blast, had a bunch of those ...

I remember being thrown for a loop when 'Battles in the North' came out b/c I had only seen the promo sleeve art, which was alot better than two guys crouching on a white background

Between the cover confusion and the damn thing taking a month to arrive from the place I ordered it (thanks again UPS!) the album had 2 strikes against it before I got the shrink wrap off

Pheeew how much did the vinyl of that album cost me?

Certainly not that much. CD collecting seems to be going crazy since all these new thrash bands have come into picture maybe reviving the interest in obscure things perhaps. Was it around the Merciless Death starting to become famous era that CD's went nuts?

No, before that!
The CD pressing of things like this are rarer, it was released at the time that CD's were pressed in limited quantities as it was still a relatively new format and the vinyl was available everywhere!

Now, unfortunately there is a wave of gay nu-thrash bands...
