Rivalry was good but too long. Had they excluded the crappy songs there would have been a 45-50 minutes album of solid stuff.

RUNNING WILD are one of my 5 favourite metal band ever. I have to agree that everything up to Masquerade kicks ass, with Death or Glory being my absolute fave one and one of the 10 metal LPs that i want to buried with when my time comes. Rivarly had some killer tunes, but also some mediocre ones which spoiled the whole picture. The last three albums range from average to crap, i can barely find 5 tracks that i like. Very boring, uninspired and passionless, i think they have totally lost it. The rumours i heard at KIT about Rolf forming a glam band are making things even worse...

Fucking amen to most of that... I enjoy everything up until Black Hand Inn like hell. The only 'correction' I would like to make to your statement is that I think the latest album, Rogues en Vogue, was bloody great for the most part. The best one they have done since Black Hand Inn in my opinion.

That's not a rumour, I'm afraid it's a fact. The band is called Toxic Taste. To make things even worse, one can instantly hear that it's Rolf writing the music, the riffs and guitar lines are unmistakably Running Wild like. But it's all done in fagish sleaze fashion. :(

Oh yes Death or Glory is also my fave Running Wild album!
So Rolf is forming a glam band? Well I just watched their Death or Glory Live video on my PC and I found the members were using pretty much glam-like outfit and hairdo. I have no problem if Rolf wants to form a glam band as long he still writes good music. Alright, as a matter of fact, 80s glam rock is my biggest guilty pleasure (Cinderella, anyone?).

Yeah, Cast of Iron (?) are a little too much like RW; they need to inject at least a little of their own personality or risk being labelled a tribute band

RW is also in my Top 5 bands of all time, and I'd agree with those who like everything up through Masquerade but then see a decline in quality. The newer albums aren't terible IMO, but the band is definitely coasting at this point. Many tracks on the last few albums just seem to re-hash ideas from earlier albums. THen again, you still get the occasional gem like 'Siberian Winter'.

Fans seem somewhat split on Rivalry and The Brotherhood; some love these two albums while others think they're among the weakest in their catalog. Same goes with Rogues en Vogue, although a person's reaction to that album usually seems to depend upon whether or not they like the quirky production. I think it gave the songs some life, which was a welcome change after the dull sound of The Brotherhood and Victory.

I haven't got a good grasp at most of RWs 90s albums. Some how they just sound too clean, monotonic and the drums are very robotic sometimes. But recently I've got into Pile Of Skulls so I think there might be a chance for me to like this period too. I think it's the production that Bugs me the most.. Especially BLACK HAND INN sounded like shit to me when I heard it last time.. But I gotta listen more to these albums to allow them grow.

My favourite Running Wild albums are Death Or Glory, Gates To Purgatory and Port Royal.

I used to listen to some hair and glam bands before I got into metal. Nowadays most of them sounds just the same, weak and boring. My girlfriend likes Cinderella and I almost bought her one of their LPs when she had a birthday. But I was too ashamed to pick it up in the store and go pay for it so I bought her Bathory's Twilight Of The Gods instead.
But I still think Cinderella is a lot better than bands like Poison or Pretty Boy Floyd..
