Worst case scenario ... for Metal

In case this planet would suffer a mass extinction, and only a few humans would somehow survive, how many chances you think Metal has? Would surviving MHs find the will to tell descendants of best music of the distant past? One possible scenario: Heavy Metal minstrelsy ? Wonder how many chances are humans would "tribalize" by music tastes?

I guess they will confront much serious problems than finding a way to preserve their metal legacy. It won't be easy. Zombies, mutants and nuclear monsters will be everywhere. It will be FUCKIN' METAL just to stay alive and thus there will be no need to listen to metal in their free time

Seriously now, i don't have a clue. Many questions arise. Questions like: How the hell can one play metal without an electric guitar? What kind of metalheads will survive? Fans of Limp Bizkit or NWOBHM obscurists? How many of them will be able to play an instrument? I don't like the scenario of tribalization by music tastes 'cause if we take into consideration today's proportions, there will be really, REALLY few serious metalheads left...Our tribe will be among the first to be extinct by the cannibals of other music genres...I only hope that there will be some survivors who will remember to sing the choruses of CIRITH UNGOL's "Paradise Lost", TYRANT's "Eve of destruction" and ATTIKA's "Black rose" helping the others to realise how doomed this planet was in the first place.

I wouldn't succumb to such a degree of hopelessness, I meam, it's not necessary that fm-adorers would represent the majority of survivors. Blue Oyster Cult once said that "Sea-dogs and rockers will dwell on doom" and as prophetic as this band was, I have no doubt.

Electricity I haven't even include in the equation. I wondered in what form the Metal hymns would survive if they would survive at all. That's why I mentioned minstrelsy in first place.

I really found the clip to be humourous and well-directed. I don't care about the music they play from the little I've heard of them. I wish there were more conceptually adventurous HM bands nowdays though, so I'll give them that for a concept well done.

I really don't know if it's hopelessness or raw realism...the fact remains that things are not going that well in many corners of the world...just my thoughts anyway...

In what form would Metal survive? Obviously with no electricity available, the only thing one can do is sing and hit some cans. That means you can play metal music as metallic as Roots of Sepultura

I just loved the Cirith Ungol's part, ive been listening to that song lately, now im imagining the survivors sitting by the firelight listening to a rusty tape player with the remaining of the batteries and chanting all together that chorus into the night

I doubt much metal would survive. The few people left wouldn't feel like singing anyways..it's more likely they would just sit on the ground,stare into space and rot. If any metalhead did survive I would hope that he,or she,would realize that their chances of survival were not too good. In saying that,I hope this surviving metalhead would at least hum some great metal tunes while walking amongst the corpses/ash looking for food.
I know I would be singing/humming "Black Sabbath" by Black Sabbath if it were me. Between gasps/sorrowful cries of torment.

We should then store all our demos, CDs, DVDs Mp3 and maganzines into a big metal vault, like the ten commanments but with a five pointed star and baphomet engraves in the sides.
