Yeah, ebayers really have busted a nut over limited pressing Metal albums in recent months. Beats me. Good time to sell :)
Every now and then a great item gets very little attention. I was surprised that the copy of the Reincarnate single that sold today didn't even hit $150. WTF? It's widely recognized as one of the best nwobhm singles and the pressing had to be a few hundred-1,000 tops. I don't see why it got so little attention. The only thing I can think of is that it was issued without a picture sleeve (except for some w/ promo sleeves). This copy had a replica of a 'home made' sleeve.
Do singles issued w/o picture sleeves typically sell for alot less, all other things being equal? Or is everyone holding out to get a copy with an original promo sleeve?

He's Australian too I see, If you guys get his address maybe I can take him out of the game haha :P.

But seriously people willing to pay anything for items make shopping on eBay so depressing.

I've traded with him for few times, but I can't remember from which city he's from, he might as well be from Melbourne :) Great trader, btw!

Amen!
I assume you were the nightlock bidding on Axecrazy's Satan single? I was watching it too. I've never seen a copy sell for that much before; they usually top out at around $250. It was a slick copy.

Yeah that went unusually high I thought my max bid was already being a bit too generous, obviously not.

nightlock- yeah, even in that condition I thought it went about $50 too high. Oh well, congrats to Axecrazy! Maybe you or I can win the next nice copy that turns up! Cheers!

The last one that turned up before that (with no picture) went for much cheaper but after having talked with that seller I fear the person who bought it may have been ripped off. The guy kept promising pictures to be sent to my e-mail box. 10 odd e-mails later nothing but insults, it felt like the guy was trying to buy time with excuses until the auction ended because the cover was in crappy condition.

What's your eBay user name nightsblood?

I just checked that Satan auction and yeah that seems pretty high. Still, if someone's willing to spend that much on a NWOBHM single at least that one is worth it!

Yep, it's a nice item. I'm surprised Axecrazy's Reincarnate single didn't sell for more; it's also great and just as hard to find, if not more so.

nightlock: my ebay ID is alan-c- I don't bid on many items these days since everything is so expensive lately. I also try to be responsible and not buy records for myself when I have other bills coming up. I still like to Window(s) shop though :) I wouldn't mind having the Satan single but it's not a major want for me. And yeah, from what you said it sounds like that other copy probably had a beat-up sleeve or maybe just a xerox. I had someone try to scam me on a Stormqueen single several years ago on ebay. Gotta stay on your toes
