Post by Fucking Åmål »

OK don't tell me big names like Iron Maiden or Slayer.
Bands in the demo stage or self released where really went nowhere.I just want everyone to draw parallels to present his amateur non-exist dream metal band.

Ok i'll start first if i had a band, chances are that it would sounded like
something in-between these demos:
Sanctuary(D)-Prisoner Of War
Wallop-Demo 84
Satan's Pharynx-Demo 83
Abstraktsion-Bomba Architector

Technicity And Melody...

Power/Speed metal possibly with a Thrash influence along the lines of:

Apostle, Assault (Can), Attila, Cities, Cruella, Phantom, Drakkar, Defender, Griffin. Helstar, Jag panzer, Liege Lord, Omen, Obsession, Recon, Sacred Warrior, Scanner, Sword (Can), etc, etc...

Dream Death, War Cry, Black Hole, Satan, Deep Switch, Witchfynde, Hell, Cynic, Megaton, Seducer, Aragorn, Triarchy, Dawnwatcher, Trespass, Apocalypse, Requiem(UK) (I could name dozens more influential (NWOBHM) bands)

Yes, Doom, heavy as fuck, raw vocals, synths/keys and with lots of other inappropriate influences from other genre's.

Speed Metal not too primal like Exciter with Judas Priest late 80's style leads.

I would be in a 100% Slayer rip-off band.

A mixture of TYRANT(US) and CIRITH UNGOL. Of course, only with Glen May on vocals. The basic element should have been a vocalist who's capable of sending endless ultra-aggressive piercing screams without sounding like a sissy. Dark heavy music that ranges from mid to up tempo and black-hearted apocalyptic lyrics are of great importance as well. Basically, i would like to be the second guitarist on TYRANT :D

Yeah, I meant the UK band. I never even heard the Mexican one. But I just downloaded it, and still like the UK one better :D
Though their Vida Despues... song is incredible!

You do know there are 5 US Tyrants? Though Glen only sang in one of 'em.

Dead on! A masterpiece, a definition of what's "Metal" for me and on the list of my top-100 metal songs ever.

Yeah, i know they're quite a lot, but i always mean the band with Glen on vokills, probably you have understood that :)

Me and my friend Zach(muskeg on here) were just talking about this. I think if we had a band in the 80's it would definitely be amateur. I think it would probably be like Heavy Load,Gotham City,IQ Zero. You know, sometimes shaky uncertain vocals, rather basic riffs that still rule. The thing is we wouldn't have even heard of these bands so it would probably be more Judas Priest/Maiden influenced. Maybe a bit more edgy and angry too, being a U.S. band.
