I think uploading stuff lower than 192kbps was against the forum rules but I can send you the download url in a private message. I'll start uploading it right away. The Evil Within Us wrote:An upload would be much appreciated.the erlking wrote:I have 128kbps rip of it.The Evil Within Us wrote:I'd rather see their single "Into the Night" uploaded somewhere.

According to the band's web site (http://www.ritual1973.com), their name was Ritual. The Widow album was accidentally printed without the Ritual name on it.expect no mercy wrote:I'm still wondering, was the band called WIDOW or RITUAL?A responsible answer please. My opinion is their name was RITUAL.
If you like the Widow album, I highly encourage you to order Valley Of The Kings from their web site. They still have some copies available. It was done in 93 and has 3 of the songs from Widow on it. I actually like it better than Widow.

I recently found a rip of "what the guy who shared it claimed to be" a 1984 demo tape of RITUAL including two songs "what if the devil wins" and "devil's disciple". These songs sound much heavier than the widow lp or the burning single and the vocals are more rough. Does anyone know something about this tape? I wonder if it really is a Ritual demo.... Great metal hymns anyway.

I recognize those titles, but not as WIDOW-RITUAL songs. Could it be the Belgian band?the erlking wrote:I recently found a rip of "what the guy who shared it claimed to be" a 1984 demo tape of RITUAL including two songs "what if the devil wins" and "devil's disciple". Edit: I remember now. It's a UK act but a different band.

And what's the name of that UK act. I know only two bands called Ritual from UK and the other is a Death Metal band.DaN wrote:Edit: I remember now. It's a UK act but a different band.

They might've recorded something in '84, but if that was ever shared or if what you have is Ritual playing only you can judge. You should be able to recognize the way the instruments are played and if it's still Re singing.the erlking wrote:I recently found a rip of "what the guy who shared it claimed to be" a 1984 demo tape of RITUAL including two songs "what if the devil wins" and "devil's disciple". The song titles don't support the theory though...

Well based on this (effective) method I'd say it's a different band. The Evil Within Us wrote: They might've recorded something in '84, but if that was ever shared or if what you have is Ritual playing only you can judge. The playing is so much heavier and the vocals don't remind me of Re Beth. But I know that some bands have changed a lot in a little time and I find Re Beth's vocals different in Valley Of The Kings than in Widow LP (one of the reasons I prefer Widow album) + the band might've had even a different singer!
Still.. I don't think this is a Ritual demo but the things I mentioned are to bright up some reasons why I even asked about this tape.

It's definitely not Ritual then. They didn't have a different singer, and if you can't recognize Re's guitar playing, it's not Ritual.the erlking wrote:Well based on this (effective) method I'd say it's a different band. The Evil Within Us wrote: They might've recorded something in '84, but if that was ever shared or if what you have is Ritual playing only you can judge. Actually they did have a different singer before the first single and album. But yeah the guitar playing differs too much from the other widows stuff.

I recently bought the single Into the night/Burning from an online store. Paid around 10 euros. It is released by Romany Records and has a red sticker in the upper right corner that reads: "In and of crisis at christmas. Working for homeless people". Finally I feel I can hold my head high when I walk by some of the hundreds of gypsy beggars here in Oslo.
Anyone know if this single is rare?

The Widow-album is such a killer. Have anyone seen it for real any time?
