A little help please...

Post by Avenger »

How do I go about downloading the MP3's from the rapidshare links users post?

When I click the "Free" option it then reads: "Download ticket reserved. In XX minutes your download will be ready."

Then when the counter hits zero, I get:

Download via Teleglobe
Download via Level(3) #4
Download via Level(3)
Download via Level(3) #2
Download via TeliaSonera #2
Download via GlobalCrossing #2
Download via TeliaSonera
Download via GlobalCrossing
Download via Cogent
Download via Cogent #2
Download via Level(3) #3

I've tried nearly all of them and I keep geeting: "Download session invalid".

When the counter hits zero, just scroll down past that list. You'll see a box where you enter a 4 character code that is provided right above the box. Enter the code, hit Enter, and it should download for you.
Note that, with a free account, you can only d/l about once an hour or so, depending on site traffic I guess.

Depending on the size of the file you download, a 100MB file while make you wait one and a half to two hours. Just about a minute per MB.

I've had similar trouble with downloading Phil's Vestal Claret lately. Session has already started but not a bit came down. I left it unresolved for now. It seems like they prefer premium users again or who knows ...

Thanks for the clarification!

Some folks have issues w/ Rapidshare but it's never given me any problems.

It seems to be working fine today...

Odd...

I've downloaded nearly any file that I've wanted to in around a minute using the free option as well.

Alright, I've now ran in to a new problem...

I open the file with Winrar and get to this point:

What do I do next to be able to listen to the MP3 files?

Mark the file and press "Extract". If password is demanded, enter it.

By "mark" what exactly do you mean?

Just click ('mark') the file that you want to expand and then click Extract. You will probably then be asked where you want the extracted files saved. Pick the folder you want the files saved to, click Enter, and the files should be open and be ready to play in just a few seconds.

Man, you seem to be afraid of computers. Don't worry much. Try, check this, check that ... the only button or option you should be afraid of is "Delete".

Don't worry; it took me a couple of tries to figure it out at first too

Alright, When I select the file and then click "Extract" this is what happens:

And then when I click the "OK" button the second window closes and nothing happens...

You don't need to open files in WinRaR but with WinRar. Use file manager, find the file and rigthclick it. One of the options should be "Extract here". Click this. It should start unpacking it immediately.

Sigh, could you please be a little more specific?

I guess im WinRaR illiterate…

No matter what I do, there is no “Extract Here” option.
