Any idea where the grayscale dragon background image on that Metal Blade merch insert came from originally? It looks really familiar to me but i just can't place it.

I'd (of course) assumed it was something of a Metallic nature that the image was reminding me of, but the thought struck me earlier that it may actually have been related to my childhood love of comics instead. Specifically, the branding that 1970's kung-fu superhero Iron Fist had in the centre of his chest. See here:

Not sure, but it seems a possibility as i did read the Iron Fist comic as a kid.
Gaming was one of the few areas of fan-boy geekery i never felt drawn to for some reason. Post that original wave of 1980's arcade games like Space Invaders, Galaxian & Defender, the only 2 PC games i later subsequently played were Quake & Half-Life.
As a result, your references went sailing right over my head unfortunately, though from what i know of you i'm 100% sure that both were doubtless tr00-cvlt connoisseur's choices.
