I just knew this would be a band you'd either react to or be familiar with. Big cheers for the link - only had time to skim it quickly but this was surprisingly great for a 2013 release. I'm hearing a lot of similarities to proggy NWOBHM there and best of all, zero 90's/00's vibes.
Am i that predictable? Yeah, i probably am. :D
The reason you heard 'zero 90's/00's vibes' is 'cause it's a remastered anthology of their late '70's/early '80's recordings. Unfortunately they split up around '83 if i remember correctly, but at least they left us a bunch of high quality recordings. Just a shame 30 years had to elapse before they finally saw release.

Hm.. "Remastered" or not, surely those aren't original 70's/80's recordings :?: Re-recorded maybe..?
Do compare them to the 1980 7" I just uploaded in that new thread..

Anyways, I'm keepin' on burning through my digital archive of rare comps I should have added 1-10 years ago, so 4 new ones added:

https://thecorroseum.org/comps/index.php

...including that ultra-enigmatic Cardiff test-pressing 'kit shared a while back. We rrreally need to straighten out a few ?'s concerning that one...

I really don't trust fragile and volatile streaming media when it comes to thoroughly preserving ultra-rare stuff for the ages, so here's a quality rip of the YT-stream + pic for preservation-by-way-of-distribution purposes:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/f3ghjyrt ... ).rar/file

(not hidden because it's too rare..)

Nope, the songs were all recorded berween 1978-1980, I even dug out the CD to check that i was remembering the details correctly.
I was in touch with Rich from ShroomAngel around that time & he said they had a ton of multitrack master tapes to work from, which they did for around a decade (!) before their ultimate release. In many cases they had several different takes, mixes & edits of the same songs from different sessions to choose from, which would explain any differences between the CD takes & the original releases.
I must see if i can find that other Heyoka anthology which came out on Janne Stark's Prog/AOR label a few years back, but i'm guessing the odds are against me.
Re 'Studio 2', kudos to you for nailing Human Touch with the line, 'Mega-wimpy, pastel-shirts-wearing  , mid-80's soft-pop.'. That damn song bums me out every time i listen to the album, but my self-sabotaging anal-retentive completist nature prevents me from deleting it. Doubly irritating as if it hadn't been included we may well have gotten another exclusive Mad Dog song instead.

Still sounds weird when comparing the production and vocals of the CD to the entirely different 7" versions in my ears, but we'll get back to that discussion on a later date

Fair enough. :)
Whilst i remember, on the 'KZEL-96: Oregon's Best Rock' comp you just reviewed, the singer on the Harlot track is apparently Mike Podrybau from Glacier. Gotta love that metal minutiae.

This one ('Hundreds And Thousands' UK-1983) is well worth a listen for the 3 borderline-ish NWoBHM bands included; City, The Fuse & Generator.
Generator provide a catchy mid-paced hard rocker enlivened by some nice soloing. City have an unusual Prog/Hard Rock mix which is heavier in parts than most prog-leaning bands got circa 1983. The Fuse's music is resolutely in the Hard Rockin' camp too, though the singer's vocals seem more New Wave/goth-ish in intent. A slightly odd mix, but it works.
Helpfully you can listen to the entire LP courtesy of the YT links included on the discogs page. All 3 bands i mentioned are on side 2 of the LP, though knowing your occasional liking for odd indie & new wave stuff DaN, you may find the whole record interesting:

Also an honourable mention is deserved for the 1979 Canadian comp 'Rot N' Rôle', for it's inclusion of the track 'Hawk Of A Lady' by The Rape Of The Lock (aka TROTL). Excellent lean mean Heavy Rock with Hendrixian lead geetar all over the place. Apparently they later also released a self-titled 1998 album, but i've had no luck finding that yet.
I found the rest of 'Rot N' Rôle' quite a tough listen though as it mostly veers between New Wave, odd angular experimental stuff & wide-of-the-mark attempts at humour though you may find it easier on the ear than i.
Surprisingly for such an obscure comp it received an expanded CD re-release in 2014.
