Canadian Sampler on major label, with one metal band NITEVIGIL ( MP3s on youtube ). There's lot's of series of "Vancouver Seeds" so maybe other samplers also have something to offer.

Another unknown Maple leaf compilation . 100 percent metal DISCIPLES OF POWER - Agressor ( exclusive song me thinks) , but some other monickers like EUTHANASIA or EDEN'S END with song Heaven and Hell sounds quite promising.

This one contains just one hard rock band called METAGENESIS ( They had one LP out back in 1983 I think) . Kinda weak RUSH followers with some recycled riffs.

The first 2 volumes of Vancouver Seeds feature songs by Kick Axe & Headpins (Vol 2) and Hard Rockers Karrol Bros. & Sparkling Apple (Vol 1). No idea if any of these versions are exclusive though both the Sparkling Apple tracks appear on their 'Hard Core Apple' anthology CD.
On that 'ShareChez '83' LP is the Bombay track any good? I ask because their guitarist (Derek O'Neil) played with a few interesting bands (Fury/Marshall Fury/Blazer Blazer/Ken Hensley's Shotgun) whilst he was living in the UK in the late '70s & he wrote or co-wrote that song 'Juanita' which Iron Maiden recorded as a B-Side. Fury/BB of course featured a pre-Maiden Nicko McBrain for a brief time, and like Nicko, O'Neil also had a stint playing with Pat Travers too. With those connections i'd held out hope that Bombay might be interesting. I'd also thought Hooker & Streetboy might have had something to offer just from their band names, but in the latter's case i've since downgraded my expectations after it occured the me that they might have been influenced by Streetheart & Loverboy. They couldn't be that obvious, could they?
I have a rip of the Metagenesis Mini LP somewhere which i remember as being pretty professional if unremarkable Hard Rock, Yeah, Rush seems a fair comparison with the bass being similarly prominent on both band's sounds. The cover art on that Mini is pretty great though, very 'of-it's-time  ':

Not sure if discussed before but would Agang Hard not fit the list?

Another one, might be a bit too late and bands are not obscure but:
"Melodic Metal Strikes Back" has an exclusive track from Helicon.
( Helicon's song is a rough mix that was not used for the debut album)

Here's one that falls outwith the usual release dates for items you include in the encyclopedia but it seems a shame to exclude it altogether as it has 4 or 5 songs making their very belated vinyl debuts.

I can confirm that Vancouver Seeds 4 does not have any metal. It's been a long time since I listened to it but from my notes only the Bon Jovi inspired "Big City Nights" from Renegade is remotely hard rock.

Didn't see any mention of a series of US comps called 'Unsigned'. 3 volumes were released on CD by Stryder Records from Florida in the early '90's. Volume 1 at least was also available on cassete too.
Discogs describes the contents of the 1st two volumes as 'Hard Rock, Glam, Heavy Metal' & the 3rd as 'Thrash'.

Vol 1 - 11 Of South Fla's Unsigned Bands (1990):
https://www.discogs.com/release/1603304 ... gned-Bands
Vol II - The Dotted Line (1991):
https://www.discogs.com/release/1552322 ... otted-Line
Vol III - Killing Time (1992)
https://www.discogs.com/release/1748878 ... lling-Time

Might well be worth investigating, and surprisingly the 2nd volume is now on Spotify, so perhaps the others are too.
https://open.spotify.com/album/4O0fpMC9f6k8LaATCnzA2e

Another recent discovery is a test pressing LP that was unearthed by someone at the 'Cardiff Music History' fb page & then shared on their youtube channel. The comp was recorded at a studio (imaginatively) called 'Studio 2' in Cardiff, Wales, in the early '80's ('82 seems likely), and 'Studio 2' was to be the LP's title.
For whatever reason it never got past the test pressing stage which is a pity as there's some really good stuff on it, particularly the Motorhead worshipping Mad Dog track 'A Switchblade For A Rose'.
10 songs, 7 bands, mainly Hard Rock/NWoBHM, with just one song falling outside those styles.

Tracklist:
01. Tok-io Rose - I'm In Love
02. Mad Dog - A Switchblade For A Rose
03. Human Touch - Don't Take Too Long
04. Vigilante - Silent Spectator
05. Chartered Hurricane - A Funny Way Of Showing You Love Me
06. Chartered Hurricane - Touch The Rocks
07. Vigilante - Victim Of Circumstance
08. Deadreckoning - A Taste Of Freedom
09. Lost Chord - Chasing Time
10. Tok-io Rose - Winters Tale

It looks like this:

I salute your keen ear Khnud, that's a dead on comparison. We can but hope that there's a safely stored cache of vintage material by them when High Roller or similar finally come calling.

NWoBHM Encyclopedia also lists this 4 song 1986 demo:
Demo 1986
1. Chill Out
2. Fortune Favours The Brave
3. The Last Great Wilderness
4. We All Remember Shangai Joe
As they'd been around as Mad Dog since 1978 there could be a lot of unreleased studio material stashed away beyond the few known releases.
I hadn't realised that the S/T '87 LP was by the same band, i'd always thought that was a Belgian group for some reason. Every day's a school day indeed.
