NWOBHM Local Comps

Post by AxeCrazy »

Here are the NWOBHM Local Comp rips requested by DaN. I found these on slsk, so they aren't my rips. Some really rare stuff. Some killer and some filler. I particularly like the Straight Six and Valkyrie tracks.

Wow, these are some great tracks! But why aren't the compilations complete?

Most local comps aren't entirely metal, for example, Kent Rocks only has about 4 or 5 metal songs on it, same with the Bridge Album. Whoever ripped these only included the metal songs.

VALKYRIE track is a killer, thanks for these, will give them a real proper listen after I have a chance to hear them through the stereo.

Yeah, I guessed as much. Too bad though. I wouldn't have minded listen to the others.

BTW: Which one is the Bridge album?

The Bridge Album is most famous for the Tempest Ride track "Another Time Another Place", which is pre-Lyadrive. The other metal bands are Rough Cut, Heretic, and North Star, but none of those come close to Tempest Ride.

I enjoyed that Heretic track. Is this another heretic or the same band that released 'Burnt At The Stake' EP?

We need to get Malc to post here at the Corroseum forum. His NWOBHM book is incredible. (And hopefully he'd post some of those Valkyrie demos too...)
