Mexican Metal
Mexican Metal
I don't know a whole lot about it, but I found an interesting site:
http://www.angelfire.com/rock3/metalmexicano/rock.html
In particular I was looking for stuff by Zebra (or maybe Zebra 3 is their name). Apparently they also have a live tape besides what's mentioned on that site, perhaps another album, cover in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4tzUq65vVo
Seems they're not metal enough for the Metal Archives or no one submitted them.
Abaddon is also an awesome band.

Re: Mexican Metal
There is no Mexican band I'd rave about but a few of them sound interesting. Recently I discovered demos of Bestia Metalica:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUCCo8GGMXY
I'd call it simplistic speed metal, somewhat punky at times. Probably not to everyone's taste.

By the contrary - i like a lot some mexican bands.
Megaton is just 1 of them and i would kill to listen a rip of the 1987 Demo :

This is what i call of True Metal to the bone...

Off the top of my head Leprosy - "Wicked Reich" comes to mind.
I'm personally not a big fan of Spanish vocals so although the scene back then did have a few bands it's not a big draw for me.

Luzbel is the best '80s band I've heard so far.

Song is great, album is ok. Follow up to this album is terrible, haven't bothered to check beyond that.
Cristal y Acero [1984]

Heavy rock, but very solid album. Best song on the album IMO

Re: Mexican Metal
I'm no expert but I can definitly recommend the Khafra's first album (S/T or disco negro). And if you are into more extreme Metal i recommend Virgin Witch, Sacrilegio (Power/heavy) , Bestial Invasion (from the 80ies) and Pactum (early 90ies).
And yeah, Luzbel rules the world anyway.

Re: Mexican Metal
the first demo of Megaton has been released on CD:
http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Me ... B3n/508107
I have seen also Gehenna early recordings have been released on CD (including compilation songs, unreleased songs and alternative version: of course Metal-Archives lists it as a full lenght album because no one takes care of the submissions):

Other nice bands are Vixit and Apocalipsis
