After a few beers Lene Lovich has to leave the turntable and make place for some Metal in the form of Speed Metal Hell vol. 3.

One of the greatest Speed Metal albums ever. Too bad they joined the pack of bands w/ one amazing debut and then a hundred disappointing follow-ups :(

yep, "doomsday" is a masterwork to my ears, and it was a sad thing to witness the gradual decline that followed...i hung in with em through "when the storm comes down" but had to call it a day after that...

Is pre-Thundersteel Riot worth the attention of someone that loves Thundersteel dearly? Riot have had, I've been told, very significantly different periods. Illuminate the ignorant!

Earlier Riot isn't power metal by any means. It's got more in common with 70s Priest, UFO & Kiss' harder songs, with quite a bit of NWOBHM-inspired energy & drive. Narita & Fire Down Under are the ones to hear. I've not heard the albums with Rhett Forrester singing yet.

Thanks for the info. I hear Rhett Forrester was a real douchebag.
