10 new comp-pages courtesy of Keir.

Cheers for pointing out the missing sleeve pics btw. For some strange reason some pictures have totally disappeared, even from my own local backup. I've reuploaded some, but some others I need to photo all over again...

I like a lot Hydra from Sweden in the "Forortsrock - Musik Från Järfälla" Compilation.

Good job with all these Compis gathering.

Thanx! ...and cool to hear someone from abroad appreciating something like HYDRA. I thought that was more of a ' Swedish thing'

Another dozen comps added.

Indeed - we in Portugal just had 2 bands more or less in this type of Punkish Metal lots of similar to several NWOBHM bands.
Mac Zac (pre-Tarantula) - Demo 1982 (recorded in Germany) (my rip - http://picosong.com/jC5M/ )
Atomic Mushrooms (pre-STS Paranoid) - Demo (1982) (my rip as well - http://picosong.com/jCLx/ )

But after these recordings they changed completely to Metal.
In the old days (and i was here living it intensely since late 1979) Punk Rockers were on 1 side and we Metalheads were on the other and we hated eachothers to the point of gang street fighting.
Nothing like it happened in the UK, Sweden or in New York just around the same time where everyone was more or less mixed up with the other...
I'm a big fan now though of these bands with all those crazy pioneers of 80's Metal, so Hydra is more than perfect.

Cheers. Another error though: the thumbnails for Heavy Metal Farce V link to the cover of Best of Metal Blade Volume 3.

@rumblefist:
Cool clips, I like the rawness of Mac Zac's guitars, but Atomic Mushrooms were good for real! They really do remind me of some old Swedish 7"/comp/garage HR-HM stuffs.
Btw, were there any mixed/local comps with one or 2 Metal songs on them made in Portugal in the 80's? In some countries this kind of compilations are very common, in others next to nonexistent...

@ET:
Man what a dodgy place the site would be without my trusty proof-readers. Cheers! + fixed (...with insert scans added)

The first (and only i can think of - is already with very early 90's stuff + 1 or 2 songs still of 1989) - The Birth Of A Tragedy 2xLP 1992 - http://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Birt ... se/2624307

So, yes, Portugal is 1 of these countries with non-existing 80's metal compilations...

There is also a Pop/Rock tape compilation of 1982 i think with a very obscure band that now some people give value, but i forgot who they were - i don't think it was Antigo Testamento - still not sure (http://portugal80smetal.blogspot.pt/201 ... mento.html ). I'll talk with Cyrcka later on this matter to figure who the band was and what compilation...I'll update here.

Recently bought an obscure austrian Compilation called "Rock from the heart of Europe".
Not in my hands yet but the appearance of Hungarians Classica really is making my panties wet.

Picked it up at KIT and it was quite a nice surprise - 3 out of 4 bands are solid/great Melo-Metal. Coming up on the site in the next few weeks..

Majesty already had an highly regarded 7" out in 1989. Didn't know the other 2 austrian bands on the Split but hopefully the record will arrive this week. :)

Finally i got the information i needed.
Well, Dan, you talked if there was any portuguese Pop/Rock compilation with just 1 or 2 metal tracks.
This is probably the oldest...(and probably - only...)
It features a obscure

Hard Rock/Rock band with a Punk Rock singer - the band was - OS VODKAS
and this band has born in the middle of the portuguese Rock boom that ocurred after the 1974 revolution here.

1 of the 2 tracks - http://picosong.com/jLyq/

And the tape-compilation of 1982 is this one - http://www.discogs.com/Various-Rockalha ... se/6687343

I've to be honest - never heard of this band until 2 years ago - but now there's a small following who gives them credit for being among the pioneers of portuguese Hard-Rock/Metal. For me - isn't particularly exciting their music...
