As discussed in the other thread.

I voted no. It would be easier just to label the uploads better genre wise.

Voted no.

Require a labeling instead, either in the title or the post.

Also, with a subforum for "non metal", you're opening up an entirely different can of worms. Is XXX release metal or not?

I'm sure will have a problem with some of them. An album like "From the Fjords" for example. However, I don't see under which circumstances an AOR or a power pop album can be considered as "metal". This isn't done to start splitting hairs, but rather to make it more useful for both sides.
Anyway, we will see how the poll goes and will decide later. There is good (and rare) music in every genre, in and out of metal and rock. For me, it just doesn't feel right having all of it in the same place though.

As I said in the other thread: The thread (yearly threads perhaps) in the Land Of Mystery would suffice. There wouldn't be that many rips anyway, yet the rules would have to be the same as in Poisonoise. I could be wrong regarding quantity, though.

I've voted no for several reasons :

+ I might be wronng, but I don't think there are lots of demands for non metal uploads.

+ The border between the subgenres mentionned in the posts above and metal are sometimes really, really thin. Most of this subgenres are slightly apparented to mtal : AOR, prog rock, ... For other subgenre, such as reggae, rap, ... I don't think they deserve their place on the Corroseum which is still a metal oriented forum. If forum members want to share music in those style, it can be done by pm's.

+ It will create endless debates on what is Metal or not, this mainly dépends on each forum member sensibility.

I voted yes, thinking about a thread here in the Poisonoise forum like the one for compilation tracks, not a subforum. I also wasn't thinking about Hard Rock or other stuff with some relation to Metal, but totally different genres. I've discovered some very nice non-Metal music in this forum, like Nukes of Terra so I thought it might be nice to have a thread for rare non-Metal tracks that somebody would think could have some level of interest for Metal fans.

I've been thinking about this for years, and here's what I'm gonna do, as soon as time permits:
There will be a new subforum under The Beyond section dealing exclusively with non-Metal music, both for discussions and uploads. This will will also include fringe-stuff like aor, new Black Metal etc.
