I heard it before, A good one, nice Hard Rock for fans of Icon, Le mans, Rock Candy, etc... I like the two songs, NO power pop (Like Debutante) IMO.

Debutante is by far heavier than this ...

And? Sabre its by far NO Metal, 100% Melodic Hard Rock. Debutante may be heavier but still power pop, vocals turn off all.
Sabre flip side are so great IMO.

So you say Power Pop is heavier than Hard Rock? Or what?
I always thought the ranking is:
Power Pop - AOR - Hard Rock - Heavy Metal

There are some really good singles labelled as Power Pop, that are far more close to hard rock or even heavy metal, than AoR.

But who labelled them? That is the question ... the Term Power Pop is somewhat misleading! :!:
If you have a typical Hard Rock band (like Debutante f.e.) that any seller labelled as "Power Pop" I would not touch it. For nothing in the world.

AOR is the worst of all. Few exceptions where it has a more epic feel to it.

Powerpop can be hard rockish or punkish but always has a quirky pop sensibility and enegry and not the murky, tired, born dead sound of AOR.

One of the best examples of heavier powerpop: Shadowfox - The Russians Are Coming. Splendid!

-----

That Sabre thing:
A side is just ok, chorus is quite weak
B side is horrible AOR, see description above

Perhaps we should make a seperate section here because uploads like this one, no matter how rare it is, is not what we had in mind when we created the subforum.

I can not stand the power pop, will be heavier but still no energy.

I think there are 2 types of AOR labeled in Ebay.

The first is the Hard Rock in the late 70s like QUARTZ, FREEWAY, ETC.

And the other labeled is exactly like Sabre B Side, which is totally different.
