Thank you! I totally agree.

Trying to think of more obscure bands. What about Bitch? I thought their debut EP was an excellent piece of NWOBHM-styled American metal and they followed it up with a decent LP but after that went to shit.

And then there's Dark Star, but they only had 2 LPs anyway so I don't know if they count.

There are a lot but for me the most disappointing was Death SS....everything after Panic was terrible (I actually think Panic was one of their best), they tried to become some gay techno shit band....their new album 7th Seal is a little better I guess but all the songs are slow and boring, but I think its their attempt at getting back to their doom metal roots from the late 70s/early 80s.

I think a lot of times a band will suck when a member leaves...such as X (Japan), Metallica, KAT,

Casbah as well. everything after the 87 demotape is jock metal bullshit. its sad because before that they were probably the best thrash band in Japan.

I have RtR on mp3 but hadn't listened to it for quite a while. Just listened to some of it, and that's a great album too. Different, but the quality is still present.

X members changed a lot during the whole 80's so do you consider most of the indies era bad or something? I like most of their stuff up to the debut album which is just decent IMO.

I agree mostly but I don't find the album "Dinosaur" that bad.
Not a suprise as it contains bunch of classics rerecorded (but also few newer ones).

I think D'erlanger belongs in this topic also.

FATES WARNING: Oh man...
MANOWAR: I don't think these guys know how to write a good album anymore. They blindfold themselves and hope they walk into greatness. Hasn't happened yet. Truly a shame due to the first 4 being some of the best Metal ever!
GRAVE DIGGER: Love the early stuff! Now they suck! Fuck!

Indeed, I was listening to Awaken The Guardian last night for the ?????time and words cannot describe it's greatness, their later material fades in comparison to for instance this work of genius.
