There's a rerelease (bootleg?) of this on some Italian label, but it's easy to tell the difference as far as I know. With them, you know, being different labels and all.Sgt. Kuntz wrote:OMEGA (UK) The Prophet

A friend had contacted Noise back in 1994 asking about a vinyl edition and they replied that none was released.MassOfKthulu wrote: Also, running wild black hand inn-anyone is 100% sure that ever came out as an original vinyl or is it just boots of the cd out there?

Sorry to be a pain, but this thread is about replicas and counterfeits.
This is a very serious thread and to me replicas and counterfeits are a totally different issue than bootlegs.
Black Hand Inn (and many other) LP is a bootleg, it was never released officially on vinyl. So it is easy for people to know that it is just a bootleg and decide to buy it or not. Also unauthorised reissues are bootlegs, but when someone buys the Omega or the Gargoyle etc. knows that they are not first press originals and that they are reissues.
But in my opinion the thread should be concentrated in the fake/counterfeit/replicas LPs.
For example, there are replicas of 2 Motorhead LPs (Overnight Sensation and Snakebit love) in circulation. There are many people that may buy them at expensive prices because there is no easy way to check (or even to know) if they are original or fake replicas (unless you have them both and compare them).

It's not easy to be the Antichrist ...
There is no bootleg/replica as far as i know (i think it would be extremely stupid for bootlegers to release a replica of it at this time that the reissue was just released).Prowler wrote:Is there a Medieval Steel boot on the market?

The condition of the picture sleeve indicates that it is original.
Propably the first auction was just shill-bidding so the seller relisted it.
And something about the Medieval Steel LP, it is not that rare.
Band members (and manager if i remember correctly) used to have many copies untill a few years back. It's high price was a reflection of it's huge name in the underground metal circles. I remember back in the mid '90s there were a couple of metal-clubs here in Greece that played the Medieval Steel song every night.

Don't know, but the Medieval Steel EP is not as rare as you might think ... there was one guy here in Switzerland who had the best connections to the USA back in the 80ies and he always used to have Medieval Steel EP's for sale (this was 20+ years ago, so no doubts about the real thing or not).
This guy alone sold between 50 and 100 copies of MS, maybe even more! I think I got 10-20 copies from him in total over the years and I know other Swiss collectors / traders / dealers that got this amount of copies from him. So the MS EP was very well spread all over Switzerland and I remember one record fair (about 10-12 years ago) when I found 4 or 5 copies of this masterpiece! Back then, it was quite easy to find copies for approx. Swiss Francs 25-35 max (approx. EUR 20-25) and I passed MANY copies because they were priced too high (around EUR 50)!
So I guess the distribution here in Europe wasn't too bad, so I do not wonder if anyone has more than 1 copy of it for sale ...
