"Collector Porn" - Vinyl, Tapes & Merch (2012)
Ha, Hermetica. I was talking to a friend yesterday about how much I hate that band and how nice would be me life if I don't have to hear a song from them ever again. Of course that won't happen, since Hermetica is still pretty big here and you're bound to come across somebody listening to it sooner or later.

So true! I like Hermetica but I don't speak the language so the messages go right over my head. I remember going to a show way out in the suburbs of Buenos Aires (8 years ago when I was travelling there), and the girl that was with us was moaning about one of the opening bands. She said basically "argh, every small band here worships and imitates Hermetica, I cannot stand seeing another". This of course surprised me, but hell I'm an outsider. She also said most metalheads in Buenos Aires hates Tho r(who I like alot) because of the goofy lyrics, singing about Tacos, etc, again, Language barrier....but I guess they are popular when they tour out in the small towns.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. I sometimes wish I could listen to local bands with a foreign ear, like I do with most bands. That allows me to enjoy the music a lot more and make it my own. I can't do that with local bands, it's a totally different thing. Somehow I can accept a US band singing about vikings or any of that stuff but when an Argentinian band does it, it just sounds silly and it makes it hard to take it seriously.doomedplanet wrote:So true! I think I'd still not like Hermetica though, those vocals are extremely annoying.
What's that Dark Light MLP sounding like? I've seen the ebay auction a few months ago but had to put my cash on different other vinyls since it was from 1992 if I remember well and I didn't expect too much from this band to pay that price. Is it anything good?chatzial wrote:Finally, i am just a couple of vinyls away from completing my post-NWOBHM wants list:
PS: I don't even like Thor's music so much. "Guerreros del Arco Iris" is a completely different caliber of argentinan Metal.

Should I really say? Some people who paid 300 Euros would be seriously pissed off ... trade with an aussie friend. A simple CD that he wanted, normal priced ... but that's in pre internet times ... long gone ...Astra Wally wrote:STONEHENGECyrcka wrote:Prowler wrote:

Very impressive, may I ask where did you find your copy ?

Stonehenge shows up occasionally on the local auction site here in NZ, but 2 or 3 of the same people bid it up to resell overseas which is annoying. Usually goes for about $200-$250 NZD (about 100-125 euro(?)). A shop here had a very nice copy for sale in store at $300 NZD for at least 3-4 months before it sold.

Well, that`s definitely much less than the prices it can reach on eBay (+500$).estebaan wrote:Stonehenge shows up occasionally on the local auction site here in NZ, but 2 or 3 of the same people bid it up to resell overseas which is annoying. That's everywhere the same. Foreign people pay you triple or even more as you'd find the record for in the producer country. Take the whole Pokolgep LP's. Whenever I said I need a copy of this album I got one asap for 5 Euros or even less while at ebay I saw them selling for ALOT more. Or take spanish records. Thor or Aspid, Zhendra, Tigres, Tiburon ansd what do I know LP's 10 Euros in Spain and 200 $ at ebay (second Thor)!estebaan wrote:Stonehenge shows up occasionally on the local auction site here in NZ, but 2 or 3 of the same people bid it up to resell overseas which is annoying.
