The guy is hated for more reasons then obtaining a rare record. I don't even collect vinyl any more so jealousy really isn't an issue.Prowler wrote:Ok guys, we shouldn't forget that we are ALL just jealous that Strappado got this hyperrare record for this price, though the reason he stole it from that guy I really cannot tolerate.

Sorry Prowler, but jealousy has nothing to do with it. I'm not interested in the album based on the songs I've heard. If he'd got it 'cleanly' instead of by acting like a dick I'd congratulate him and wish him well.
Humus- yes, ebay is very inconsistent in their boot-shill policy enforcement. Still, they do pull auctions sometimes, perhaps if people make enough of a fuss.

They didn't pull the Detest auction, despite the massive reporting from members here, although they must have banned his previous account since he's using a brand new one for this auction. In a way it makes perfect sense - ebay benefits from shill bidding since it drives auction prices up, so by simply banning the seller after the auction they both get more money and can still claim to "take measures against shill bidding".nightsblood wrote:Humus- yes, ebay is very inconsistent in their boot-shill policy enforcement. I think Stormspell mentioned once that your user has to have certain "powers" for ebay to react if reporting items and auctions.
Never attribute to malice, that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

I don't know what prompts them to act in some cases but not others. I remember someone affiliated with Pagan Altar threw a shit-fit when Glockose had one of those old 90s boots up for sale in Aug of 2009. I *think* ebay asked Glock- to pull the auction; I know he took the item down.

no idea n battleaxe, no soundclip.
I just remember having easy access to 30-40 sealed copies in the late 90's, I think they were $40 each. Never expected this high of a price, but since the album hasn't been reissued it does make sense.

that Pentagram LP is occasionally pushing into that $200-300 range. Not consistently, but I've seen at least 3 copies sell that high in the past 2 years. I'm guessing the Battleaxe contained unreleased stuff?
