Wow, Atomic Records do not accept Paypal on ebay. I didnt know this is possible!

Yeah, to think he's been able to sell 15+ copies of the Salem's Wych LP (most with incorrect record title in the auction text) for at least $250 on ebay without accepting Paypal, is quite remarkable.stormspell wrote:Wow, Atomic Records do not accept Paypal on ebay. I didnt know this is possible!
Never attribute to malice, that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
Paypal isn't as necessary as people think. Ebay just pushes it because it's thier own company.Khnud wrote:Yeah, to think he's been able to sell 15+ copies of the Salem's Wych LP (most with incorrect record title in the auction text) for at least $250 on ebay without accepting Paypal, is quite remarkable.stormspell wrote:Wow, Atomic Records do not accept Paypal on ebay. I haven't sold anything in a year or so, but doesn't it say "do you really want to offer buyers unreliable ways of payment?" or some other bullshit like that, when you dare click any payment option besides paypal.Avenger wrote:Paypal isn't as necessary as people think. More sellers are turning away from Paypal given changes in taxes- my understanding is that you'll now start getting tax forms if you sell a certain amount each year- and also paypal's continual lack of support for sellers. Buyers pay no fees to Paypal, but Paypal supports them in most disputes, so sellers- who pay all the Paypal fees- lose the payment and the item to dishonest bidders.

He was not the only person with copieschatzial wrote:I don't think that there are that many Salem's Wych left now. 7 or 8 years ago (or mayge a bit more, i don't remember) Mark Gast had around 30 copies left, so most of them must have sold by now. I also remember that J.P. got many copies from him before that. Anyway it's price should be around $100 max.
I was offered the copies from the Studio owner.
I think those are the same copies that ended up at Atomic.
A- Yes you are correct. In the USA if you do 200 Transactions AND $20K you will be receiving a 1099 Tax form and the IRS will be notified

Well, I won it for $34. If it is a CD-R or something I'll just claim with paypal and return it, if it ends up being the LP I guess I got a hell of a dealglockose wrote:AND what is this????

Well, that's the idea. I'm pretty sure eBay enforced PayPal as mandatory form of payment. I know they were going as far as to remove auctions which stated "no paypal" few years ago. Unless something happened and this rule was changed.Avenger wrote:Paypal isn't as necessary as people think. Ebay just pushes it because it's thier own company.
P.S. same goes for "Western Union" - I know from first hand experience they automatically used to filter auctions which had WU listed as payment option.

This could very well be true. I don't know as I haven't sold on ebay in over a year and never tried to list without the paypal option. If this is the case I'm surprised that it's allowed to be mandatory since you would figure it to be a conflict of interest.stormspell wrote:Well, that's the idea.
