Man, that sounds worse than their DVD 'work'

It's not a missed opportunity, it's just a shame, because they certainly still can press a regular CD, they certainly aren't from Uzbekhistan where it would be perhaps an issue.

It should be boycotted. How much they priced the "CD"?

Oh, wow! This adds a whole new twists for us... Thanks for sharing this info!

Judging from the progress here, Sultan's Ransom will be on a re-writable disc with the music recorded with a cheap handheld recorder held in front of a worn copy of the original vinyl played on a deck with a rubbish needle.

I'd like to get this corroborated by someone else who has it, to check I didn't just get a dud. I've tried it on two different players/speakers though and it's not good at all.

I will keep my bootleg CDs...at least they are silver pressed, with a pretty decent quality sound and honest artwork.... :?

I had an email from Lee Payne today saying that there was a major mix-up and that silver-disc, 4-page press copies have been sent to fans by mistake, and that there is an 8-page proper version for the fans! So on the face of it, all's well (can't speak for the mastering though!).

Yes, when you are bootlegging a bands work, it is very important the artwork be honest.

I bought the limited edition with the patch and also received the cdr version. I contacted Cloven Hoof and was told to return the cdr for the silver pressed 8 page booklet correct version.

I'm glad this situation has been solved and it is going to be silver pressed release with full booklet.

Given the circumstances, I don't think another small cd pressing is really needed at the moment, so we'll be retracting our licensing offer and supporting the band's release instead.

I also got that faulty CD-R version plus the inlay was inserted wrong and therefor does look like if I got an old used CD. I wrote to Kay - the one who usually sends all the Cloven Hoof related mails - to get a replacement. Hopefully it will work.

At the Swordbrothers festival Andi Preisig had some Cloven Hoof CD's but I did not check if they are CD-R's or not... .

HMM.

Edit: I got an error message after writing to them again. I seem to be on a spam list/ folder, however, my e-mail came back unanswered.

I can't imagine they did a special lot of the Dominator CD including a different booklet and a different CD (R). All in all a very strange thing.
