These 'special cleaners' don't give me any confidence either. On old cds the upper protective layer is so tiny and basicly non-existant that it becomes a total suicide to try anything.
I use them myself to great success. I don't like dirty, dusty fingerprints all over my shit.

My question is why the hell are you pouring water on CD's?

If you want to clean them there are special cleaners out there that can be bought for peanuts on ebay and do a great job. The only draw back is that most of the companies that sell over ebay will only deliver to the US but since you appear to live there it shouldn't be a problem.

I’m guessing that many of these issues that you appear to have were caused by your own actions.
If I used a cleaner I would still have to rinse the cd with water to get the cleaner off though.
You don't need water.

Depends. If the label side has a hard coating, you can use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe off fingerprints and such with no issue whatsoever. Just don't use anything liquid.

Most commercial CD cleaning solutions are alcohol-based, the only exception I know of being Mobile Fidelity's "Shine-ola". Any of these are safe to use on the playing side (it's just plastic), but you have to be careful not to get it on the top.

The Nimbus CDs are just fucked. There's nothing you can do about them. Touch the top, permanent fingerprint. Deal with it. Trying to do anything about it will just smear it more.

Slow and hard, baby. 8)

Looks like it's going to pussify before it hits the Carolina coast anyway, I live on a pretty high piece of land where flooding is not an issue, so my only worry is the wind downing trees on top of my house.

e;

Also, I have 2 Heather Leather promo photos (other than the one posted in DaN's review) that I could scan if anyone wants them.

Please do so...the Heather Leather girls are cute :wink:

My score:

Two copies of NH3 12". Obscure belgian heavy metal, french singing.
AMMA - le fou 7". Another obscure belgian band from Wallonia.
