Battleaxe - Power Of The Universe

Post by Shiremen »

I just bought this CD today. I thought it was an early Roadrunner release (with the catalogue number RR 9845), but it has a barcode. Does anyone know when this specific CD was released?

Does anybody know how to differentiate the original 1999 japanese pressings of Malice albums from the bootleg ones? Anything to look out for when hunting for those?
Some years ago I owned the japanese pressings of the two Malice albums. When the "Stellar Masterpieces" appeared, I wasn't aware about the fact that they were boots. BUT these boots are so perfect, that I didn't really miss the japanese pressings. Everything from the thick booklet to bonustracks was perfect.

BUT later copies of the bootleg seem to be boots from the boot. They have a totally different (bad) quality, printwise and some people reported CD's which skip from time to time. I noticed that later versions did not have "Made in New Zeland" on the back. This was for me - so far - the only way to identify the original bootleg from the later ones, which seem to be crap,

HMM.

http://cgi.ebay.fr/SU-GAR-Jaiotze-Basat ... 4cf74ed035

Saw that awhile ago (was listed as auction at the same price, but noone put a bid). Since there is no barcode it should be the original 1st press, but it surely isn't; the original CD matrix is totally different and ends w/ # 1. The CD here looks more like the one that came w/ version w/ barcode as I remember, yet the one at Gellert's actuions look different as well:

http://cgi.ebay.com/SU-TA-GAR-Jaiotze-B ... 45faca1f24

And as the CD from 1st auction comes w/ matrix that ends w/ # 3, that could mean it being the third press. Were there (at least) 3 different pressings w/o barcode?? Does anyone have more info about it?

Which one of Broken hope- swamped in gore cd on grindcore is the first pressing? The one made by Nimbus, the one that says "made in usa" probably by PDO as its the same style of matrix number, or the one made by Technidisc?

Anyone know if the Morbid - December Moon cd (Reaper) has been bootlegged?

This is the second one from the same seller in short time:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWAX:IT

- And it's a Greek seller. Unfortunately they have a pretty bad reputation these days, so I'm always skeptical.

Kryst The Conqueror is about 20-40 USD (usually around 30), beware of the bootleg, ask for the matrix before purchasing (bootleg has the catalog number as matrix).
I have no idea about Gravestone, I don't see a lot of the Brainstorm CD series anymore.

2 questions this time....
_____________________________________________________

First:

Does anyone know if the German label Source Of Deluge is genuine or not? Got their reissue of Stainless Steel (Hungary) - Red Heat Within today and it lacks many of the things a legit label has....

There is no copyright information written ANYWHERE on the CD, or covers
There is no year of release noted anywhere (original CD on Hammer Records, 2002)
There is no information about it being licensed from any label or band.
The CD has no SID-codes (IFPI ####(#) numbers)
The matrix of the CD is "#1"
The entire pressing feels kinda cheap

In my eyes this is a big red "bootleg" warning sign.

Second:

Does anyone know if the Leviticus (Sweden) albums where reissued around 2008 as a boxed set of CDs in cardsleeves? Won a CD in cardsleeve version of the album Setting Fire To The Earth on Tradera and it has SID-Codes so I know it wasn't made in 1987, but Royal Music Production as a label disappeared very early into the 90s as far as I know.

The matrix made me suspect this, the CD matrix is:
GUL-6 ROYAL 9 CD-BOX-1 34559-1-19 080518 1025

Thanks for the help!!!
