Everybody is totally entitled to their opinions but there's a whole load of stuff here that I just can't agree with!daniel wrote:I enjoy 'Volume 1' and 'Lords of Hypocrisy' in parts, the vocals on 'Mythical and Magical' simply cross the line when it comes to being annoying, and music ain't too metal; which wouldn't bother me much otherwise but when people call it some metal masterpiece it does.

Simply put, I do not like Pagan Altar at all.
I find the voice annoying most of the time, the solos are pointless and seem to go on forever while I can't remember one single track every time I listen to their albums. And yes, daniel is right, they have stuff that can hardly be called Heavy Metal.

people seriously don't like Terry Jones vocals? !!!!
does not compute.
must be one of the spookiest weirdest voices in HM. The music's stellar too, but he makes that band for me. They'd be so much less with a standard metal vocalist. For me saying his voice is annoying is like saying King Diamond is annoying. Do not comprehend!

I have met a respectalbe number of fans over the years who have claimed that they dislike King Diamond's vocals. This is defintely not something new to me.
However I don't understand this..is it some kind of 'default' option that everyone who likes heavy metal should also like King Diamond's or Terry Jones' voice? Who says that?
KD is not a fave vocalist of mine, but I can stand him (most of the time, that is). Jones' voice on the other hand, no. It's a matter of taste actually and I'm sorry if you or anyone else cannot 'comprehend' that.

If you can stand ION BRITTON vocals (as your nickname implies), you can stand everything.ION BRITTON wrote: KD is not a fave vocalist of mine, but I can stand him (most of the time, that is).

But yes, it is as usual the "famous" matter of taste, that decides over "to like or not to like".
To me, the P.A. vocalist is quite good.

Something similar can be said about the album you have for avatarNasty Uwe wrote:If you can stand ION BRITTON vocals (as your nickname implies), you can stand everything.ION BRITTON wrote: KD is not a fave vocalist of mine, but I can stand him (most of the time, that is).![]()

nah, of course it's not some kind of metal requirement to like these guys. We all like something most people hate and hate something most people love I'm sure - I'm speaking entirely personally. I can't imagine not liking these guys and am occasionally surprised when someone into metal doesn't, it's not a statement on that persons taste or anything. It's just fun to argue about it!
