Amaranth is ok melodic metal, I didn't listen to it for at least 7 years, it is just in the collection. Here is a little esoteric tidbit: They were from the Bay area (San Jose or something) and if my memory is right they had the same management company back in mid 80's that Rellik used. I mentioned this band to Kent Robertson once and he made a funny gagging sound, haha, I guess he didn't have fond memories of them.
Sorry, but that picture it awful...Ra Pariah wrote:
These are some CDs from my collection of Greek black metal. I had picked that photo a long time ago, so here I post it!

Do you know the rarity level of my collection?
How do you know what to expect when you never have seen my collection.
Anyway, maybe it's my fault, maybe i gave you the wrong impression with the photos that i posted so far. No problem, i'll post some new photos so you may change your expectations.

Imo, you're in 4th or 5th place among greek collectors ( i don't count nwobhm collectors because i don't care for them).

I'm not questioning nor do I have any expectations for your collection but granted that there is only a handful of yellow colored 7" that are accounted for, I wouldn't assume that one would be in your collection.chatzial wrote:I am sorry but i did not understand that.Avenger wrote:Do you actually expect him to have a yellow copy?Nasty Uwe wrote:

That aside, maybe more posts in actual discussions and less showing off would do some justice? You seem a little sensitive.
Great collection so far though.

From my previous post you got that i am trying to show off?
Anyway, i don't have any problem with you. Maybe i missunderstood.
Today i am turning 40, so maybe i am just in a funny mood.
Thanx for your good words about my photos.
P.S.: As for the yellow vinyl, i could have have it but years ago when it was offered to me by a dealer, he asked $1,500 records in trade, so i declined his offer.

I would have done the same.
The single isn't worth $500 per song just because it's yellow.
Happy birthday by the way.

I'm sure you know how Avenger did mean this.Fils Du Metal wrote:you are right with this. It is easily worth 2500-3000 US$ nowadays...getting it for 1500 US$ cash or trade has been a unique chance...he single isn't worth $500 per song just because it's yellow.

What would be an equal trade for it?
That's the question.
I don't know, but I'm not as crazy for records as other ones on here.

Just keep in mind that this offer was around 10 years ago. Back then a $1,500 trade would just be insane.Nasty Uwe wrote:I'm sure you know how Avenger did mean this.Fils Du Metal wrote:you are right with this. chatzial- you have a great collection, you've posted tons of killer pics!
(this info has been posted before, but i figured it was worth re-posting here)
Re: the yellow vinyl Avatar... Actually 10 years ago it was already selling for $1,500. I know for certain one copy sold for that much in the late 90s. I've been told by a reliable source that one copy has reached $4,000 since then. Both I and a reputable dealer asked Steve Wacholz about the record when Steve was selling off memorabilia in 1999; he said there were 10-20 copies made on yellow vinyl, the other 980 were black. In the late 90s I could account for the whereabouts of 4-5 copies:
2 were in the US (one still is, I think the other has changed hands)
1 was in Germany (has not changed hands)
1 was in Holland
I think 1 was in Belgium (there is a chance this was actually the holland or german copy, which is why I'm not certain if it counts as a 5th copy).
I've seen a couple sold in the last 10 years, but i don't know if they were 'new' copies or if some of the above copies have just traded hands more than once.
Assuming the max of 20 copies were made, you can figure that a few are still in the hands of band members/their families, and a few have undoubtedly been destroyed/thrown out. Thus, at best there are maybe 10-15 copies out there. If only 10 copies were made, then once you subtract out band member copies and destroyed copies, there could be only 4-5 left out there (note: Steve Wacholz sold his, so he does not have one now unless he's re-acquired a copy).
And no, there were never 16 red vinyl copies being hoarded by a collector in Chicago. I heard that rumor back in the 90s but Steve confirmed no red vinyl copies were made.
Hope that helps
